Vololights motorcycle brake lights alerts following drivers to your slowing whether you are engine braking, downshifting, or using the brake levers. It runs independently of your brake lights and alerts following drivers an earlier indication that your motorcycle is slowing through flashing LED lights around the license plate frame. We planned for the fact most states have slightly different motorcycle license plate sizes. While we have accounted for 47 of the 50 states, residents of Alaska, and new Mexico should check the "fit" dimensions image.

I've not had a chance yet to have my wife drive behind me and see how it's working but I can tell you that cars behind me are definitely not tailgating and seem to slow down even when I don't have the brakes on, so I'd have to say that it is working the way it's supposed to, making it worth the investment!
I had one minor issue on the first power-up, and a call to Faizal had that resolved quickly.
Honestly, the install was so simple with good instructions, I find it hard to believe that anyone that is skilled enough to ride couldn't do it. The end result is a clean installation that looks very OEM.
UPDATE! I noticed that neither the packaging nor the unit itself (even on the inside) says "Made in China". WOW, a new electronic product that's not made in China! I asked Faizal and he said the components are made in the USA, but final assembly is done in Mexico. The good news is that they are moving all assembly to the USA very soon. A Win-Win for everyone. Well done, Vectolabs!!
I did have my son and father follow me, they said it worked as intended and is as bright as any brake light. So good stuff there, I'll buy another for my other bikes.
Aside from the voltage issue, I think the Vololights work great. They alert drivers behind you when you let off the throttle and you are slowing without braking and of course when you are actively braking. I actually took me about 20 minutes to install them if you take away the troubleshooting of the lights.
Every light for braking is a plus.
Unfortunately, I ride by myself, and have no one to verify how good it does.
But I will say, that I've noticed cars backing off quickly when I begin to stop, so I'd have to say it's working.
Edited to add:
I finally got a chance to see this in action when I let my brother ride my bike.
It works as advertised, and is a nice addition for stopping or slowing down visibility.
