I like that it's a mitten because all your fingers are together which helps circulate warmth. Add to that the heating element, and that makes all the difference. It isn't completely perfect where my hands aren't cold at all, but I expected that. They still get a little chilly. What is nice is that there's levels of heating you can pick so if it's not as cold outside, you can turn down the heat on them. Still, I did find out the huge difference between heat and no heat. I'd had forgotten to charge, and the battery on one died on the way home. It was less than 10 minutes outside with 1 hand heated, the other not. By the time I returned, the non-heated hand was very cold and painful. The heated one was a little chilly and didn't hurt.
The small con, I don't feel the heat as much in the thumb, and that could use a little more. If anything, my thumb does sometimes get a little too cold/painful on a short 30 minute stroll outside. That said, I do also use a wheelchair so I'm not generating body heat from walking, either.
All in all, these are really awesome, and I suggest giving them a try!
Second day it was -2 at the summit and hands were toasty for two hours then the battery was dead!
This is when I really needed them!
So I'm not sold!
I'm giving them one more cold day chance then may have to send them back!
