As the story goes on, Voluspa gets more and more developed, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who images things in their heads, so when the world starts to develop, so does the ability to see it in your head, and it's really great when a story can bring a whole world to life in your imagination. All the magical creatures, and the adventures captivated me from that moment on. The intricate story line fills you with hope for a happy ending (as you grow pretty attached to the characters).
I can honestly say that when I reached the final page, I was actually that stunned, I couldn't believe that the author's would leave me hanging at that point in the story! Safe to say though, I can't wait to read the continuation of Amy and Drake's adventures!
I liked the pacing throughout the book, until I got to the last couple chapters. A lot happens at the end of the book, and the pace felt a little rushed. Amy's connection to Jacek is explained, and I am not sure if I get it exactly. The ending includes an epic battle, and leaves obvious room for a sequel. At the same time, I was confused by Drake's choice at the end. It seems like it could have gone a different way. Still, I enjoyed reading this book. It made for a pleasant few days.
that this is the first of a series is just plain wrong. Nice story idea that has been told to death but always works
