Vornado 660 Air Circulator
The Vornado 660 features dramatic gloss and matte finishes and sleek lines. Its whole-room vortex action empowers the 660 to move air up to 100 feet. A chrome glide bar enables a full 90-degree tilt, and push-button controls located at the top of the product allow for easy selection of its four speed settings. Maintenance is simple with a detachable grill that provides easy access to the blades. And the 660 is backed by Vornado’s industry-leading 5-year satisfaction guarantee.
Comfort should be constant
A Vornado circulator creates a unique airflow pattern called Vortex Action to circulate all the air in the room. The air flows fast, cool and constant to create a cooling experience unlike any other.
Feel cooler, no matter where you are
Unlike whole-room circulation, oscillation only feels cooler when you’re in the direct path of airflow. The 660 provides comfortable, whole-room air circulation for the entire room by moving all the air — ensuring that everyone is consistently comfortable no matter where they sit.
Fluid by design
The 660 fluidly tilts between horizontal and vertical airflow positions along a chrome glide bar. The 660 further raises the bar with its intuitive push-button controls. Located conveniently at the top of the product, the user can effortlessly select among four speed settings ranging from whisper-quiet to turbo.
AirTensity Spiral Grill
The special twist of the AirTensity grill creates a spiral effect that allows the air to travel throughout the whole room.
Enclosed Air Duct
By enclosing the deep pitch blades in a cylindrical duct, air is sculpted into a high-velocity column that powers through hot and cold zones.
Deep Pitch Blades
Heavily contoured blades maximize the amount of air moved with each turn of Vornado's high-powered motor.
Inlet Air Accelerator
The specially sized inlet directs air to the most effecient parts of the blades to increase airflow.
Guaranteed for 5 years.
We believe in our whole room circulators — so much so that we guarantee each one for a full 5 years. While your Vornado circulator continues to keep everyone comfortable, 5 lesser fans may have already hit the landfill.

One day I said enough is enough! I didn't like sweating in my own room after a long day, so I decided to buy a fan. I went through a few pages before getting to the Vornado. What actually drew me here was the price, it was much higher then all the other fans I had looked at. So the question came to mind....is it really that good?
Unfortunately, fan reviews are not easy to come by, which is understandable. So I just did some research on what made a Vornado so special from other fans. This fan actually circulates the air in your room and it feels like a light breeze all over your room. It brought down the temperature in my room by about 3 degrees, but on top of that it's a constant breeze that cools you off, so it feels even better then what the thermal reads.
Because of the way this circulates air, I actually had to not use my ceiling fan so it would not disrupt the circulation process. This fan blows out a TON more air then any fan I have ever had before. forewarning though, please be advised that it circulates air, that means it will not do it's job if it's pointed directly at you, it has to be pointing to some top corner of the room to move the air round properly.
As far as the settings go, 1=Literally no sound at all, 2=Still pretty quite, 3=Now you might want to put a few notches up on your TV, 4= sounds like a normal fan now, it's not super loud, but enough to notice a fan is on somewhere.
As a suggestion I would get this fan above all the other Vornado whole room fans. Because what this fan can do on setting 2 and 3 is the high setting for the lower priced models and I like having the choice to go up or down to what I need. Now there is another model called 733, know that the 660 ( this one) is a lot better at energy conserving and can blow more amount of air at a quieter level.
Let's just get this out of the way; the fan is probably a lot bigger than you're expecting if you didn't pay attention to the given dimensions.
Now with that out of the way, this fan is well-made and unassuming. The glossy finish in the front should've matte like the rest of the fan, but it looks nice when there aren't any fingerprints all over it. The nice wide base gives the fan stability and there's no way that this thing can be knocked over. The tilt design is flexible and it works well, but it can be hassle sometimes since it relies on the motion of the metal band in the back. The location of the power cord could've been better placed somewhere else.
Operation of the fan works by the 5 buttons that lay on the top; Power, and fan speeds 1 - 4.
Cleaning this fan is simple. There's a single philips head screw you need to remove first, and then you just push down on 3 tabs to remove the entire front grille.
This fan is remarkable. The amount of air it blows at even speed 1 is great, and it's extremely quiet. At 2, you can start to hear some noise, but the noise output is still next-to-none when you compare the amount of air being blown to any of its competitors (and even the lesser models in the same family).
I went through an entire Summer using just this fan. I never once turned on the AC regardless of how humid some days got. Remember, that this is a Whole Room Air Circulator and not a traditional fan, so its intended function is to point it from corner to corner to create a breeze through the entire room. The effects are very apparent when it's a sealed room and you see the curtains being blown and drawn towards it.
• "Is this fan 3x/4x better other fans in the $25-$35 range?"
If you have your heart set on buying multiple fans or being frugal, then I won't try to convince you. But once you own a fan with this much air output at such quiet levels, you'll understand why it's worth every cent.
• "Why wouldn't you just buy an AC at this price?"
Having an AC racks up the electricity bill big time, but if you desire a COLD room, instead of a sufficiently comfortable one, then this fan won't be able to compete. However, I prefer the latter, and the comfort of running this fan 24/7 without any worries of an absurd monthly electricity bill let's me sleep at night. It pays itself down the road if you think of it that way.
• "It's even better than the Dyson fans?"
The bladeless Dyson fans are garbage. They're loud (or they used to be) and the amount of air they blow just pales in comparison. You're only paying for the premium aesthetics.
The power cord could've been placed in a better spot.
The fan starts at 4 when you turn it on. Very minor gripe.
The size is a bit much if you move the fan into a variety of rooms.
There's no other portable fan that can compete against this.
It's designed to circulate air in a room mixing all the cooler air lower to the floor with the hotter air higher near the ceiling while creating airflow all around the room vs the typical fan blowing air in no real pattern that works best pointed directly at you.
The vornado works amazingly well but there is a catch to it that most people don't notice, don't know or don't always mention... In order to get great results you must experiment with placement of the vornato to find its sweet spot in that particular room. In other words the vornado doesn't work well everywhere in the room and that sweet spot could be a place you really don't want to keep it like the middle of the room, far corner of the room or maybe not near an outlet. If you don't experiment with placement you may not be getting full results leaving you to believe it wasn't worth it or it's overrated when your just using it wrong.
I hope this helps..
