The VH10 is one of Vornado's next generation of Whole Room Heaters. The modern styling on the outside hints at an enhanced design within to maintain a balanced room temperature. Using specially tuned airflow called 'Vortex Action', the VH10 creates a twisting current of air that flows fast, warm and gentle - circulating the heat throughout the entire room using walls and ceilings as pathways.


Comfort made simple. Dial in your comfort with the simple-to-use controls for adjusting the thermostat selecting between the 2 heat settings to regulate the power consumption between Low (750W) and High (1500W).	Integrated carrying handle. The VH10 comes equipped with a conveniently-located integrated handle to provide easy portability.	Hidden cord storage. For added convenience, the VH10 features hidden cord storage to safely store excess cord on the bottom of heater.

Cheap Chinese with a good warranty

It's a little expensive and I believe that is to cover the warranty. These have a certain failure rate and the seller does honor the warranty. These are cheap Chinese units but when they work, they work fine. The thermistor fails from time to time. If so, they send you a new heater. No repair is offered and no spare parts.The thermistor is easy to replace if you are an experienced DIYer. Use this one:

If you think about it, you can figure out how to wire it up for an easy future replacement, by externalizing the thermal fuse.
If you are not a DIYer, you can count on the seller to cover you if yours fails.
Update 1-15-19: This one lasted less than a year and the thermistor has popped. I will just change it out. If you are not a DIY person, you better hope yours fails within the warranty period. I recommend you run it A LOT after you buy it , even when you don't need to, so it will fail within the warranty period. If you just use it a few weeks in the winter and then store it for 9 or 10 months before you use it again, it might fail after the warranty runs out. I still like it because it's so easy to fix it.

I bought this space heater in December of 2015. Seemed to work well, but it died after only 3 months of use (heating element and fan just simply don't turn on). I contacted Vornado customer service, which quickly sent me a replacement at no extra charge. That one did not work at all out of the box, but a second replacement did work.

Fast forward 7 months, and it dies again in the same way as before.

I will be contacting Vornado customer service again, but this is already a bit ridiculous.

Extremely safe for children, but only one fan speed

I bought this heater because of the EXCELLENT safety features:
--The grate on the front is so tight that even the tiniest fingers can't get anywhere near the fan blade.
--The outer casing of the heater doesn't get hot. It gets warm, but you couldn't burn yourself on it even if you were touching the front for an extended period of time.
--The thing is really hard to tip over, and if it does tip, it automatically turns itself off. (There's a button on the bottom that gets pushed in when it's flat on the ground, but if it gets lifted less than an inch, it turns off. It's a little disorienting when moving it, because I keep thinking I pulled the plug out of the socket.)

The only thing I don't like about it is that the fan only spins at one speed. The High/Low settings only change how quickly the room heats up to your desired setting. If the High/Low changed the fan speed instead of the air temperature (or there were a switch for both), this would be the perfect heater.

I would give it 5 stars if not for one design flaw. The bottom of the unit is where a plastic extension comes off for the safety tip over feature. This plastic piece has to be depressed for the unit to stay on.

Unfortunately it's a small plastic hole that has a round bottom that fits into the hole. Twice this has popped out and nearly been lost. Without this easily detachable plastic piece you have to put something (like a coaster) under the unit to keep it to stay on.

Just found it after 2 weeks... was about to demand they ship me a replacement plastic piece... Not until the next time now, i guess.

This is a great heater for how we use it

We have been using this little heater for one year now. This is a great heater for how we use it, which is one demand -- turning it on and off manually as needed. I bought it to use in our 6x12 bathroom for cold mornings and it quickly takes the cold edge off. We live in northern coastal California and have no central heating, just a woodstove in the main room, so lowest temperature the bathroom gets is probably in the 40s. It worked great for the bathroom. You have to be sure that it is sitting evening on the floor, however, or the kill switch is activated. You definitely hear the fan, but I don't find it annoying. Is it a smooth airflow noise. When our built in heater in our 16x16 bedroom died this winter I moved it there and it was been excellent at taking the chill off the room. I run it for about 45 minutes to an hour before bed, then shut it off for the night, then turn it back on in the morning for coffee in bed. Very happy with this purchase.

Not only is the heater extremely cheaply made but the manufacturer clearly was primarily concerned with safety features and not HEAT. I put my hands directly on the front of the unit for 30 seconds before they got uncomfortably hot. Great safety feature if you have a child or pet but I don't have either and spent 70 dollars for HEAT. HEAT meaning HOT. The 'warm air' that blows from the unit will warm your toes if they are resting within inches of the front panel however it is almost funny that the Vornado fan system actually will blow cold air on you if you are more than about 5 feet from the unit when its set to the highest and strongest heat setting. I had a friend over last night for dinner and half way through the meal we were both getting a chill. We looked over and realized the 'heater' was about 5 feet away which effectively meant that the heat was dissipating prior to reaching us and all that was left was the blowing air on us. This cheap heater actually blows cold air on you!!! Vornado would do a better job changing the name from, 'Heater' to 'Colder'. If you are looking for a safe and cold 'heater' this is the unit for you! Honestly the only thing that will rise in your home will NOT be the heat but will for sure be the electrical bill!!!! Do not purchase!!!

Quiet but not that Quiet - Baby Room Use - Cannot Set Temperature

We got this heater with the intent of using it in the baby's room which is not much more in size than a den. The heater is one of the quietest fan heaters I've ever heard so would fare well in say a garage or larger room but in the baby's room the fan noise echoed.

Here's a Pro and Con list:

Pro:
- Very quiet when used in medium/large room
- Spreads heat gently rather than blasting it at you
- Fast delivery (thank you Prime)
- Tip-over safety switch works fantastically well
- Cable comes out the back of the unit (very rare on heaters but practical) good cord length
- Cool to the touch at all times
Con:
- On high wattage setting gives off smell similar to a hot hair dryer
- Run in garage or other non used area for about 6h to burn off the new heater smell
- Fan is loud in small room
- Thermostat is finicky and does not reliably keep room at same temperature (keeps it at about 5F range)
- No thermostat that you can enter a specific temperature on

I was expecting something called a Vornado to push out a lot of air. The diagram of the airflow in a room shows how the air moves and circulates. Well, I plugged in the first one and I got a burned plastic smell and the temp never got past warm. No way it could be 1500 watts. The second Vornado seemed to operate properly but where was the air flow? I put my hand a foot away from the front of the unit and I couldn't feel any air. I left it on for an hour and nothing. A personal warmer maybe but for a room? Not a chance.

I have never used any other space heaters, but I must say I am very pleased with the performance of this one. It is extremely quiet, and packs a heck of a punch for its size. I've used it in medium sized rooms and it performs splendidly!
If you can drop the extra money get the higher up model with the remote (I get lazy walking across the room to turn it off lol). But if you are not bothered then this is a great purchase
