Solo Tactical R/T 8x36 Monocular (SOL-3608-RT)
Built to be carried as a standard piece of equipment and close-at-hand, the Solo R/T Tactical Monocular gives a closer look when needed. Features the Vortex R/T Ranging Reticle with reticle focus for accurate range estimation and calling shots. And with the integral utility clip, it attaches to webbing or other flat-edged surfaces for quick external access. The 36mm Solo Tactical R/T monocular delivers bright images, is compact, and easy to handle. Constructed to withstand use in just about any field condition, o-ring seals and nitrogen purging make the Solo a fully waterproof, internally fogproof monocular.
R/T Ranging Reticle
Hashmarked ranging reticle using mrad based subtension lines for ranging, holdover, and windage corrections. Quick-ranging silhouettes. The R/T ranging reticle is based on a form of angular measurement called the milliradian (mrad for short). These angular measurements allow a user to calculate ranges when comparing the reticle to objects of known dimension. The key to effective ranging using this reticle is knowing common objects in your vicinity and their measurements.
Adjusting the Focus
Designed for quick single-handed operation, simply place the thumb and forefinger on the focus wheel and turn to move lens forward or backward.
• Top focus wheel adjusts the reticle.
• Bottom focus wheel adjusts the image.
Adjusting the Eyecup
The heavy duty flared rubber eyecup on the Solo Tactical R/T monocular folds up and down for optimal viewing with or without eyeglasses.
• Flared eyecup blocks stray light when fully extended.
• Eyecup folds down for viewing with eyeglasses.
Attaching the Lanyard
1. Detach clip from the lanyard.
2. Push the loop end through the attachment point on the monocular.
3. Pull the clip through the loop and cinch tight.
4. Re-attach the clip to lanyard.

I discovered this item after using a number of their products in the shooting sports. Vortex makes some VERY good sights at competitive prices. When it came time for me to buy a monocular, I thought I'd give them a chance, and I don't regret it. Like any product, you need to identify your need, or you'll buy the wrong one. I bought mine primarily for training purposes. I wanted an optic I could hang around my neck that I could quickly access to look at targets after putting some lead down range, and it works great.
Pros:
It is sturdy and well made. I love the housing. It provides protecting and excellent grip. Ergonomics are superb, and with a bit of practice, you can use this and adjust focus one handed.
Comes with a lanyard and soft case, as well as a utility clip to attach the unit to a belt, pack, etc.
The other feature that is really cool is the reticle itself, and the silhouettes right on the reticle that you can use to estimate ranges. The included instructions even tell you exactly how to do it. Very cool.
Image quality and clarity is fantastic. A friend of mine had the $300 version of this product line and to be honest, I couldn't see a vast improvement, at least not for three times the money.
Cons:
Although it came with a soft case, which is great for field-use, I generally like a hard-case option for my optics. This didn't come with one, and I'll be looking for an after-market case that I hope will meet my needs. This would be forgivable IF it came with lens caps to protect it, but it doesn't, unfortunately.
Eye-relief: Anyone who has used a monocular knows that eye-relief, which is the distance your eye needs to be from the optic, can be tricky. The soft eye-cup SHOULD help put the unit right at the correct distance from your face, but I have found that it doesn't quite do it, and I need to "hunt" around for the sweet spot sometimes. I don't fault Vortex for this, because it is in no way a design flaw specific to this product, it is just the game you gotta play with monoculars. With a little practice, I was able to acquire much more rapidly.
This is a great product. If you need a great optic from a reliable company, I can think of plenty of worse places to start than Vortex. This may not have all the bells and whistles that I wanted, but given the high quality and value-packed price tag, I consider this a bargain on a great product.
AT $100, this is a super value, esp wth the MRAD reticle included.
We used this to spot hit at a long range tactical shoot, and we could tell hits and misses, and sometimes where the hit was on clean steel, at distances up to 900 yards. Much better than the naked eye.
Will NOT replace a decent spotting scope, but then again, this is a scope you can carry everywhere as you move around, whereas a regular spotting scope that is not gonna happen.
FoV quite decent, too.
UPDATE: After taking it out of its pouch, yesterday while out training, all kinds of parts fell out of the pouch all over the ground. Like something became unfastened or unscrewed, and all the eyepiece lenses fell out from what was holding them assembled.
Optic useless, and with very little use and handling overall. I've only taken it out of the pouch for initial review and once or twice on the range. So I don't know if this item is super flimsy, or I just had an outlier poorly assembled unit, but at this point, caveat emptor. I guess you get what you pay for.
Let's see how standup Vortex Optics tech support is.

Update 4/25/17 Focus ring has worked the stiffness out, so I bumped it a star and all is perfect.

Made in China.
Negativ:
(Staub/Regenschutz) Bedienungsanleitung only in English.
Buon acquisto.
