This landmark work of speculative fiction follows the adventurer Maskull as he travels to Tormance, the lone planet revolving around the double star system Arcturus. Each new land that Maskull visits is ruled by a different philosophy, and he must navigate each in succession as his body changes in response to the varying environments in which he finds himself. Never sure of his surroundings, Maskull must determine what we will and will not do to survive—a metaphysical inquiry that propels him toward an unforgettable final realization.
A major influence on C. S. Lewis’s Space Trilogy, A Voyage to Arcturus is a surreal and masterful investigation into the meaning of good and evil, the nature of God, and the origins of the universe.

About the author

I live in Manchester, England and get up to all sorts of nonsense. Writing keeps me out of trouble ... most of the time. 'FAT Girlfriend' was written alongside working extremely long hours during my employment at CitiGroup and other financial institutions that eventually fired me. If you worked with me at any of these companies then I will probably have either used part of your character or you will recognise the characters of others (there is no one person in this book, though - every character is a figment of my imagination, with a few idiosyncrasies of others thrown in).
All proceeds from FAT G go to a small charity called 'Georgia's Children of the World'. Every penny donated goes to helping children in Romania, Cambodia and Salford (UK) - nobody takes any wages and there is almost nothing spent on expenses. Volunteers, when required, even pay for their own air fare, and there are now five Georgia's Schools around the world. Money is primarily raised through comedy and music events, with the annual G-Fest music festival bringing in around 4,000 people to watch some fantastic bands. So, even if you think there's too much swearing in FAT Girlfriend, at least you will have contributed to a very worthy cause.
My second book, Studs Up!, is a collection of novellas and short stories - seven, in fact. Although some element of football may have crept into the story lines, I wanted them to be more about life and how football can sometimes just get in the way of it. If you like to laugh, enjoy a good story and don't take life too seriously, then this is for you. Or not - read it and tell me.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about the author and for reading my work - it is more than appreciated. If you liked it, please tell others via the Amazon Review pages - it may make my next redundancy easier to take.

I had to keep reminding myself this book was written nearly 100 years ago. While the language was written in a very old style the ideas and images were so fantastic that it hardly seemed possible. I am still not sure whether our hero traveled across the galaxy and then this strange planet or just through his mind.
Very strange…
