Stone's story is wonderful and heartbreaking all at once. He does not believe a good woman would want him with his prison record and difficulty finding a real job. Evie is stronger than he imagines and knows what she wants. We also get to read more about all of the Gentrys. A great read. I cannot wait for Con's story.
I liked that Stone had changed so much. He valued life now and didn't take it for granted. He became a good man. Oh he had a huge hiccup with Evie, but he felt huge remorse and fixed things quickly.
Evie was a good character. She had a privileged life growing up but she never let it change the core of her which is a really great person. She is honest and respectful. She was a great match for Stone.
I'm diving right in to Con's story now. What he has been up to has got to be really bad news.
Great book and it's awesome to keep up with the other Gentry boys and find out what they're up to.
Evie is determined that her brother will see her, and finally talk to her, she continues to go visit despite the fact that he won't, she's hurt and fighting her demons.
I am first so happy that stone got his happily ever after, he has been through so much and he definitely deserves it. Evie was perfect for Stone, she has worked hard to get to where she wants to get, but doesn't look down on Stone or think that she's better than him; I believe because of situations with her brother she has good perspective, though Stone feels he's not worthy.
Really enjoyed this book, was happy to see the Gentry boys again and their family. Really good job
Stone Gentry has finished his 4-year prison sentence. He knows first hand how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away and that ever minute is not to be wasted.
While away in prison, Stone has sent hundreds of letters to his brother, Conway pleading for his forgiveness and letting him know that he never betrayed him. But, all of Stone's letters have gone unanswered. Upon Stone's release from prison, he plans to seek his brother out in the hopes that his brother will finally forgive him and they can work through the pain and begin to heal.
Evie Dupont is dealing with similar issues with her own brother, who has suffered from addiction and is now serving time in prison.
Stone and Evie's paths have crossed a couple of time but neither actually acknowledging the other.
They meet again at the wedding reception of Evie's friend, where Evie is a bridesmaid.
After a blow up, she is looking to escape briefly and Stone works for the party supply company and is killing time until the party is over.
Evie is just amazing and is exactly what Stone needs. She maybe little, but she is fierce and loves hard.
Stone has come along way from his carefree, manwhore days. He is drawn to Evie, but keeps his distant. He feels being an ex-con he has nothing to offer her....at first.
I highly recommend reading Gentry Boys (Books 1-4) you will fall in love with each one of the Gentry men. Draw, Risk, Game, and Hold books are great stories and are wonderfully written.
I just purchased and downloaded "Edge" and cannot wait to start reading it.
Once Stone regains his freedom, he meets Evie, he's instantly attracted to her, but doesn't feel that he's good enough for her...
Evil is also very attracted to Stone and finds out he is the nephew of her boss's husband. They wind up going to a picnic together over at her boss's house. Well, who should turn up? Stone's now bad-boy brother Conway! Then the story picks up real momentum, and simply won't allow itself to be put down! Even if you must get up early the next morning!!
I love Cora Brent and the family-oriented, fun, good-looking, Gentry Boys!! I hope she will always write about them!. I would recommend this series to any adult who likes adventure with some adult context humor and romance thrown in! Another win for Ms. Brent!
