My 8 guinea pigs approve! I purchase 4 of these about once a month. I have spent so much money on toys for my piglets only to find that most of them area waste of money. I have tried many wooden blocks and other similar items to this one. For some reason they go crazy for this and it is fun to watch. I have 6 girls that will make short work out of one in about a week so I put 3 in the cage. I only have 2 boys now so I am replacing theirs about once a month. It is very strong and does not break apart very easily. I suggest daily inspection just to make sure it hasn't gotten to small to be safe. Once they chew through, I remove the ball from the cage. It isn't large enough for them to swallow, but then again they can get into trouble when they want to be mischief makers. There is no color transfer from the color on the barrel. While pigs should have constant supplies of timothy hay to help keep their teeth worn down, it is always good to give them something stimulating and an option to gnaw on something harder since that have continuously growing teeth.
