A native of the Philadelphia area, Jeff has published multiple works in both fiction and non-fiction. In 2011 he was the recipient of the Red Adept Reviews Indie Award for Horror.

I'm not really a huge fan of short stories because they always leave you wanting more and that's exactly what Warped is. A hooker, like a drug that you just cannot get enough of.

From a Scarecrow and A Murder to Torment to Sugar Daddy, each of the short stories will have you hooked: not in a bad way but in a I-want-to-read-more-even-though-I-have-other-responsibilities type of way.

Not only is Warped a collection of short horror stories, but each story is filled with so much much that it'll have you laughing so loud people would think you're running mad because you'd be hunched over and glued to your phone screen like a mad man.

A Scarecrow and A Murder was one of my favourite stories and utterly hilarious that I couldn't put my phone down.

Jeff Menapace is an utter genuis and highly outdid himself with Warped. There is a fine balance between the humour and the thrill in the entire collection of his short stories in Warped.

Warped is a must read and I do recommend it to everyone and anyone whose a book junkie with little to no life lol,

I am a Jeff Menapace fan....the Bad Games stories are as good as it gets if you love thrillers mixed with horror that are fast paced & keep you reading nonstop. The author is truly a genius at writing taut, interesting books with characters that are so believable you feel like you know them. And I love it when he throws in the paranormal aspect. I enjoyed most of the short stories in this book, especially The Scarecrow & a Murder...to me, this was the best of the bunch...the others were good also, EXCEPT, to me, the Sugar Daddy stories were just so totally off the wall that my believability tanked...and they were boring. Again, every author can't please everyone all the time, but Jeff Menapace is so talented at what he does, you can't go wrong in choosing his books. Hope they make Bad Games into a movie...it would be great!

Okay, so I'm not actually into horror, I prefer thriller because it's milder. However, here Menapace crosses the line into horror in certain scenes and novellas. I am of the persuasion that often when there's a prevalent crossing of sex, gore, and the demonic, people like myself, often find it nauseating or distasteful. You'll get a lot of that here, but not in the same way most people do it. It's like he's built his own sub- genre of psycho- horror, which made for quite the page turner, as he does it so effectively.

The first 2 novellas are mediocre, but BELIEVE me it gets good. The 3 best are: Torment, Fish and Biscuits in a Barrel and the Sugar Daddy Series hands down. His writing style, and his dedication to plot and twists will win you over here. Menapace is an overwhelmingly imaginative, stylish, and passionate writer. I'd love to see his writing on film.

I loved these stories! Most of them are very short, but nothing is short about their impact! 'Get off my Ass' will make you rethink road rage next time you get behind someone ' driving Miss Daisy'! 'Fish and Biscuits in a Barrel' is too cute with a sick twist thrown in, of course! 'Jeremy's Loss' was terrific too, especially if you like 'disturbing psychological thrillers'! I would enjoy that being expanded to a full length story. So, if you are already a fan of Jeff Menapace and haven't read these earlier works, do so! If you haven't read any of his work yet, these are a great place to start. You will be hooked!
