Now this PPV was well done, I've watched it both on PPV (not live, borrowed the tape from someone.) Now in the regular PPV it had somewhere from 7 to 8 matches but when I viewed the home video version I learned that it only had 5 matches, but they were good ones. It had matches like Johnny B. Badd vs Maxx Payne, Horsemen vs Hollywood Blondes for the tag straps, also Sting and Davey Boy Smith vs The Masters of the Powerbomb (Sid Vicious and Big Van Vader). The only reason I gave it less stars because it's missing matches that was on the PPV, this should have been more like a PPV video, but other than that it's great, especially the tag title match.

I'm back doing another retro rasslin review this was suppose to be The Great American Bash but since Eric Bischoff hates all things NWA Beach Blast became The July Pay Per View. As I always do I'm going to fill in the gaps of what happened leading up to this show. Comment if you like or dislike the backstory being told. This was the start of The D a m n Disney tapings so anytime I put Double D I'm refering to The World Wide tapings. On The May 29th episode of WCW Saturday Night Harley Race & Colonel Robert Parker confronted Sting & The British Bulldog Race told them Vader isn't finished with them. On The June 12th episode of WCW Saturday Night Colonel Parker & Harley Race held a Rally for the formation of The Masters Of The Power Bomb. Colonel Parker said they can either face Vader & Sid Vicious at Beach Blast or retire. The following week on WCW Saturday Night Parker, Race, Vader & Sid Vicious went to The Beach where Sting & The British Bulldog were playing volleyball with some kids. This mini movie takes the cake of all of Dusty's mini movies. Cheatum The Midget puts a bomb on Sting's boat. Colonel Parker tells Sting & The Bulldog accept these 2 tickets the retirement haven of your choice. Of course they decline. 2 girls tell Sting that there was a funny guy hanging around the boat. Sting checks it ou. Those 2 girls tell The Bulldog about a clicking noise. Bulldog runs to the boat knocks Sting off in time "The Little Stingers" think they have perished but they rise up from the water & it's To Be Continued until Beach Blast. It has to be seen to be believed. On The May 29th episode of WCW Saturday Night Arn Anderson & Ric Flair challenged The Hollywood Blonds for The NWA-WCW World Tag Team Championship at The Clash Of Champions 23.Read more ›

This is a great tape. There's one match that's plain boring(Rhodes/Rude) and another one that was good(Hollywood Blondes/Arn and Roma) although Brian Oillman ripped his tights to reveal his anus and Paul Roma fell over when a drop kick missed him by 2 feet.

Otherwise, this is an awesome tape. A minor detail about this show that I've noticed about no other is the lighting. It was awesome. I don't know what exactly they did on the technical end but something about it was special.
