5400RPM 5TB (4.54TB useable) was hoping for a 7200RPM model...I guess that's the 3.5 inch drives.
The 'up to' 140MB/s claim was a bit aggressive.
Amazon didn't add any additional protection to the shipping of this physical hard drive. Came in a bubble wrap bag and manufacturer packaging.
Western Digital Packaging was nice.
Rubber feet arent 100% sticky, will slide if pulled by the cord
Not Impressed too much. $160 after taxes.
Seagate MyBackup Plus 5TB is under $130.
Follow the pictures attached for details. Opening the drive is very easy. Use a 2mm hex screwdriver on each of the four corners of the aluminum plate. Gently pry the plate up and off, there will be some resistance because it's held in place by four gentle adhesive strips. From there, pop out the four plastic tabs which are holding the drive in the enclosure. At this point, you can effortlessly lift the drive up and out of the enclosure.
Upon inspection, I found a Western Digital drive with a model number of "WD50NMZW". The interface is USB and the control board soldered on. It's possible the developer re-used old controller board design, because as you look to the left of the USB port, you see solder points that match a SATA port, in the location where you'd expect to find a port.
In any case, I learned what I needed, put the drive back together and now it serves me as an external USB drive.
Edit: set it on a mousepad and the sound is near silent
Being a hard drive... It is best to not be rough with it, moving parts and all. I haven't tested the durability, but it seems like it could withstand a drop or two.
First impression: very very low vibration and noise compared with a 4TB mt passport from 2018. I cannot say any about reliability but I feel confidence.

Its definitely worth the price considering this is aimed for the large files games.
I opted for this mainly because of the trust in western digital products and the size. I’m using it on my Xbox one. Works perfectly and I’m glad I went for it over the ssd. Games these days are getting 100gb plus. I’ve got the fastest internet I can get in our area and it still takes ages to download the games so this allows me to keep them for longer without having to re download.
When you subscribe to game pass it allows you to just queue up a load of games to play and not worry about space.
The games load quick enough for me not to worry about speed. The Xbox really should have come with 4tb as standard.
The product comes well packaged, looks the part, well made and is reasonable fast. It connects to your PS4 / device with a standard USB cable
I tend to swap current games i'm playing onto my Pro SSD as it's obviously much quicker, but when you have the size of games so large now, an external is a must have to save you from constantly deleting and installing games!
The hard drive its nicely next to or on top of your PS4.
This would also be compatible with Xbox One, PC or Mac!

There are complaints about it not being future proof enough for the next consoles in terms of transfer speeds below 5GB/s with USB 3.0. It also uses a proprietary version of the micro USB standard that has a wider connection but is not as common in place of the Type C connection. I chose to buy nevertheless for my collection of games and transferred all my content, as default. It does bother me that for compatibility with newer consoles with the exception of Windows Core OS features it may prove a challenge to appreciate. As the point of backwards compatibility in Xbox One, series X may require a format to continue to function, with older support algorithmic partitions. Hopefully that is not the case with software as a limit in 2020.
I found no major problems with build quality although used to Aluminium it is tough and rests with rubber feet on the white plastic base material.
I've always used Seagate and honestly they are sufficiently good enough. They do what they are supposed to do. But possibly 99% of all Seagate HDDs work perfectly and then there is that 1% that doesn't or that 1% that Plays up. I have had a couple of Seagate items that have had problems. It is usually the small connector where the usb/hdmi port on the HDD itself buggars up and you can no longer access you main catalogue of games or music. Which lets face it is a major worry/hassle. So from now on I am going to spend a little bit more to have better quality metal work on the port of the HDD. The strength of the metal is much better. Probably thicker and welded better so it doesn't just mangle up or fall off completely.
YEP, it's Western Digital for me from now on I think. And they look a lot better don't they!? I know it's only aesthetics but I like things to look good as well as work good!! Don't you?
The P10 Black drive is a solid 40% faster than the Passport Ultra - a very nice (unexpected) bonus.
P10 5TB gets my recommendations.
NB: il est impossible de le remplacer car soudé au boiter et la connectique spécifique USB soudé directement au circuit imprimé, pas de sata.
You can store a vast number of games on here, and play them from the drive. The Games you play while stored on this USB drive play as well as they do as If they were stored locally on the Xbox (built in) drive.
