Having used the grill for over a month now (at least a dozen uses), I can state that it cooks excellently. It will cook slow and easy on low heat for chicken and pork and it will crank up to cook thick steaks on high heat. I can even get a nice flame going to get a good char on my wife's steaks.
Another feature that I really like is the fact that all four wheels caster which makes it incredibly easy to move around. One of my favorite things about it is the drip pan design. All of the drippings funnel down to the pan which is on the left side. The pan uses replaceable aluminum liners which are very easy to change. I'm a cheapskate, so I line the pans with aluminum foil and just replace the foil. But it's vastly superior to the design that was used on our old Kitchen Aid grill. That grill's small pan was held by a welded bracket. The weld gave out on one side rendering the drip pan unusable after about two years. Not pretty. Part of the reason why i will never buy anything made by Whirlpool again.
The only thing that I do not like about the Weber is the utensil hooks on the side shelves. They're useless. The plastic hooks are too large to use with any normal utensils. I ended up grabbing a few S-hooks out of my workshop. These hook over the wide plastic hooks on the grill and allow me to hang my utensils, grill brush, etc. (See photo). It's a minor annoyance, but still...
At any rate, I'm going to overlook the hooks and go with 5-stars. It's really a delight to use - especially after four years of suffering through our old Kitchen Aid junk.
I like the "flavor bars" because they cover the burners, thereby keeping drippings from sticking to the burners.
My grill came with a damaged hood and Weber was very helpful so I did not need to return it to Amazon. They sent me a new hood.
I like this grill!
