Not the quietest 3000 watt Generator.

I own 2 Wen 1250 generators, and a wen 2000. Purchased this 3100 watt because of the good experiences I have had with the other generators. This unit out of the box ran very bad. After finding that the plug was cracked, replaced it and now it runs like a wen should. Just a note and my opinion, these generators come with a torch name brand plug. not the best plug. Get your replacements asap. The 2000 and the 1250's run pretty close to each other sound wise. The 3000 is no where near as quiet as one would think a inverter generator would be.

The wheels are great, and unit is not that heavy. Over all I am happy with it.

Frustration outweighs the pros

Pros: looks good, compact, fairly light weight

Cons: I am in the process of building my own house so a generator is crucial. I have had this generator for A couple months and have about 40 hours on it. At about 25 hours, the oikd level sensor failed which will not allow the generator to run. I lost a weekend of work because of this only to get the run around by 3 customer service sgaents until finally talking to one that knew what they were talking about. I bypassed the sensor so it would run again but they wouldn't send me a replacement unless I sent the bad one back.
Issue number 2: I have about 40 hours on it now and it is running rough, overloading itself and cutting out. I though maybe bad gas at first but drained the carb and take, out new fresh gas in and same issue. It appears to be an electrical issue cause it to surgery then almost die.

After doing a lot of research I picked up a Wen 3100 for my toy hauler / camper. What a great little generator. Runs my 120V fridge and my roof mounted air conditioner / heat strip without a problem. It's not the quietest generator in the world, but if you point the exhaust away from the camper it's not much louder inside the camper than the roof mounted AC unit itself so it's not a big deal. If you can get away with the 2000/2200W version I imagine those would be quieter, but I needed the 30A plug for my camper and the 3100 was the smallest unit with that plug. I am very much enjoying the Wen though... starts up easy and runs for a long time on a single tank of gas. I was lucky enough to score it for $561 during a Christmas sale on Amazon when Home Depot was selling the same unit for $899. I see Amazon's price has now come up and Home Depot's price has come down. If you're on the fence about this unit, I recommend it.

Wen RV Generator 3 month Review: It'll do for now.

I've had this orange power producer for three sweet summer months now. I like to dry camp away from everyone else, not in a camp ground, but out in the forests somewhere, preferably by a stream, river, or lake. I needed a generator for when the camper batteries get low. I wanted one that'd be quiet enough not to really disturb the wilderness or the rare forest neighbors. I also needed a genny that would run the ac/heat for those mountain days that are cold, or not cold enough. This is louder than I'd like, but it's below the Forest Service noise requirements. There are quieter out there. The Predator 3500 is a sweet quiet generator, but it costs 200/300$ more. All the little honda 2000ish inverter gennys are so much quieter, but they don't run the AC. After running this Wen 3100 RV Generator all summer, it meets my expectations for the price (600ish$). It's quiet enough, but not that quiet. It runs the ac, the appliances, the microwave (I just had to check) and doesn't guzzle the gas. Now, the handle is either really cool, or just silly, it folds all the way out (check the video) and back up. It's heavy, think two-people-to-put-it-in-the-truck type heavy. Starts easy. A couple complaints: It's heavy. Heavier than I wanted. The oil fill/check location is behind a side panel that has four or five screws to take out, not the greatest idea. After running it all summer (on and off, every few weekends for 3-5 hours each trip) there are a few missing screws from the side panels. They've vibrated loose, and I've losted-ed them. Boo. I'd run it without the panel, but the panel is a major sound dampener. One of the wheels did the same trick, again, and again, but I didn't lose the wheel.
The good; it's quiet enough for those picky ranger types in Yellowstone, you can drag it around by the wheels, it runs the ac/heat/appliances and charges the batteries.
The cost is a bit much for a "meh" off brand generator. The oil dipstick is super-inconveniently located. It's a tad loud. Heavyish.
It'll do for now, when it breaks down I'll get something else.

Keep shopping, it works but there's better units out there

This generator goes through quite a bit of fuel, even on a super low load. I can't get 8 hrs out of a tank with it running just the furnace in my camper which ran approximately 10 minutes/hour. This means that I can't get a full night out of it, I have to go outside in the middle of the night and top it off; very disappointing. Also, the plug for the RV is at the bottom of the unit which makes plugging in an RV more of a hassle than it should be. All RV chords that I've seen have an elbow in them, with the plug in being at the bottom of the unit you have to elevate the whole thing to plug it in. I wish I would have bought something different.

Super quiet, it came in a day earlier than expected 😁. Just added oil and gas started on 2nd pull and wow! Very quiet, switched on economy and boom even more quiet. If it is dependable in the long run this is a great buy at just over $600.

Generator stopped working after about 12 hours

Ran for a total of about 12 hours and then stopped running. Gas control/choke knob very difficult to operate and sometime won't turn at all. Called Wen and I was told to return to Amazon for a replacement but when I try to set up a return Amazon tells me to contact Wen for support. This failure left me and my family for 3/4 of our week-end getaway without electricity and in Texas going without A/C is miserable.
