WESTERN Cooking Wood Chunks can be used in dozens of different types of grills to add that wonderful wood smoke flavor to your barbeque dishes. Chunks are great to use with charcoal for added flavor, but for best results and completely natural cooking, use only 100% wood chunks. Second only to Apple in popularity growth, Cherry wood also adds a similar mild and fruity smoke flavor as Apple but with a bit more punch. Cherry can be mixed with other fruit woods to develop a custom flavor. It can be used with vegetables, seafood, ribs, chicken, steaks, venison and beef-based sausages.

First, I have burned these in my bullet smokers and on my charcoal grill for years, but recently discovered them listed on Amazon.
The wood is aged yet not rotted and old which makes it ideal for flavoring whatever it is you are cooking.
The chunks are fist sized which allows for long burn times in my bullet smokers and grill.
The bag had only a few pieces of bark and some slivers.
Likely these came loose in transit as every bag I have ever bought in stores is the same way.
If you need or want wood chips, these are also available.
The price as an Amazon add-on item is better than what my local stores charge even on sale and is the identical size and product.
Since I am only a recreational barbecue and grill guy, this purchase makes sense for me. The convenience of having these already split and packaged eliminates any savings and my desire to buy and cut my own hickory into these sizes.
So, lb for value of at least this hickory one beats everything else hands down price wise.
I did find a store locally that will order in bags of difference chips/chunks. They are $3.49 for a two pound bag. EVEN for Oak, which I have found is pricey.
Average size of chunks 3" to 3.5" . Wood contains no bark.
