Made a HUGE difference in one kitty's life!

I have 6 cats. I have always fed top of the line dry cat foods. Other quality dry food had the same ingredients (all good stuff, no fillers, etc.) One of my cats developed a serious allergy (bloody ears from scratching, very sore bum from 'scooting.' Because I was feeding high quality food I figured something else must be the culprit. I changed EVERYTHING; food dishes all stainless steel, water fountain stainless steel, changed cat litter brand, stopped giving cat treats and catnip (everybody still mad abour that). And then as a last resort changed to Nutro. Please keep in mind that ingredients were comparable to other brand I was feeding, but the dry food was the only 'change' left to make. My very long story short(er), all 6 love the new food. Allergy kitty's ears healed up within a couple days (he is off a steroid now), and his poor itchy bum is almost back to normal. I 100% recommend this dry cat food.

The Only Food We Give Our Pets

Nutro is the only food we feed our 5 cats. When we foster, we only feed Nutro Kitten. All of our cats have beautiful coats, minimal shedding, very little to no dander, and are very healthy. Litter box odor is minimal, too. No one believes we have 5 cats as we don't have any odor in the house from them. It is 100% worth the cost as it's a great value. As a high quality food, they eat less than if they were feed low value / low quality food. Our cats don't throw up and have very few hairballs (less shedding, less hairballs).

*** UPDATE *** I noticed since I starting switching both my cats had softer, silkier fur. It is noticeably more soft and silky. *** My two cats ate the Indoor Senior chicken flavored food right away, no problems at all. They were eating a chicken based food before so the transition isn't as extreme as if they were eating something other than chicken. I read some other reviews that their cats didnt like the food but mine did. it just depends on your cat and what they were used to eating previously. I bought the smallest bag just in case they wouldnt eat it. I like the packaging too. It has this nice pull tab with a zipper seal. I bought cat treats from Amazon with expiration dates that were too soon so I was a bit worried about buying cat food but this bag had 10 months before it expired so it was good. Most pet food sites guarantee at least a 6 month window of time so I was glad to see this bag had a 10 month time frame. I like to have a bag on hand at all times, in case of emergencies. I would recommend trying this food if you need to switch to a Senior formula, but I would recommend getting the small bag at first, just in case they wont eat it.

Only the Best for my Feline Family!

I have two cats, now 13 and 14 years old, respectively. My ex-gf got me started on feeding them Nutro when I got the first kitten years ago. The product has changed names a few times, now being called Nutro "Wholesome Essentials" - but it is essentially the same product, as for as I can tell. As an aside, I'm curious to see if there's much difference between this and the new "Grain Free" type that Nutro now offers. I started them out with Nutro for Kittens, then progressed to Adult and later the Indoor varieties, and in the last few years have been feeding them the Senior Indoor type.

That said, I feel that feeding my cats Nutro has been one of the best decisions I've made for my little critters. While it's not uncommon for cats to develop feeding issues as they get older, my guys have always loved the Nutro I feed them every day. I give them about a teacup-full size portion daily, and I find that this makes a 14lb bag last about two months. In the entire time I've had them on this diet, my cats have never had any dietary issues or undue sickness or infection, at all. It's actually incredible to me that they've faired so very well, and I give no small amount of credit to the balanced nutrition they get from Nutro.

Used to be a good product, now cats won't eat

My two cats (13years old) have been enjoying this food for a long time with good health, but they refused to eat this batch. Not sure why, but I watch them try over and over and they can't do it. This was never a problem in the past, and may have to do with Amazon's storage methods. It could also be a bad/old batch, so beware. The package says it expires April 2020 / Purchased Dec. 2019. Our cat stopped over eating, and his litter smells much better!

We adopted a 16lb 7 year old cat and we didn't know what kind of eating habits that he had. The guy likes to eat, period!

A 16 lb cat can, and will eat a lot and this immediately became an issue for us. We wanted something with natural ingredients and a best value for price per unit, to stretch our dollar.

Previous foods he kept craving and whining for, telling me that there was something that was triggering his reward and compulsive centers that kept him meowing all hours for more in his bowl.

With this brand, we feed him between 3/4 cup to 1 cup per day, once in the morning, and it sustains him until the next day.

We are on par to get 2.5 months out of this 14lb bag which breaks down to $0.48 a day. Thats a good value in my book.

Lastly, his stool. He has a habit of not covering his litter and while on other foods, there was a terribly foul odor coming from his pans. He still doesnt cover his litter, but since switching, we no longer wake up to a foul smell encompassing the entire first floor. Rather, a smell, coming from his litter box area.

Changed formula as well as packaging

I switched my senior Kitty to Nutro back in September. It was the lavendar packaging. He did really well. No throw ups etc. they changed packaging and also apparently changed formulation. It apparently lacks hairball control and started to throw up again. He is a long hair cat and I do comb him but there was something in the old formula that really helped him. On the recommendation of pet store associate I switched him to another brand offering hairball control and he just lapped it up no transition necessary and no more throw ups. I’ll be donating rest of bag.

I have old cats. They are used to have new food every pouch. Ive tried MANY brands. All with similar results ( even tought my cats seem to like the Science Diet a bit more). This food is complete junk. Makes my 3 cats vomit! Ill try for a refund ASAP

My cat loves the other iteration of the Nutro Wholesome Senior cat food I found on Amazon. I thought this would be close to the same at a lower price, but so wrong. My cat will not eat this food and I can't return it. At least when you buy from a pet store you can return the food if your pet doesn't like it. I'm out 50$ and I have food she won't eat.
