Product Description

Replacing your WiFi antenna with our booter will significantly increase the range and strength of your WiFi signal. Our quality built 3x power omni-directional Booster WiFi antenna is a direct replacement for the antenna that comes standard with your router, access point, VOIP device, or PCI card. Because it is omni-directional, no aiming is equired - it can send and receive WiFi in all directions. Our antenna is even 2x stronger then the less powerful booster antennas offered by major manufacturers (2x the power of the Linksys HGA7S and HGA7T.) Installation is very easy - just twist off the factory antenna and twist on our Booster Antenna and you'll experience an instant jump in performance: up to 4x the signal strength and 3x the range. Compatible with all 802.11b and 802.11g WiFi networks and devices, it extends your WiFi into hard-to-reach areas at home or in the office while at the same time reducing interference and noise. No tools are required for the installation of our antenna (twist-on / twist-off.) Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are unhappy with this product for any reason, you can return it for a refund. Complete with Lifetime Warranty against breakage.

+9dB 15" Booster Antenna for "Linksys" with RP-TNC Connector

To solve the mystery of how you can get gain out of what might appear to be a omni-directional whip: This is a collinear antenna which has coils built into it so that it acts like several vertical antennas are stacked on top of one another, each creating more gain as the radiation pattern is squashed down into the shape of a toroid or doughnut so that little power is received or transmitted either directly above or below the antenna and instead concentrated in a band around the center. If the Wi-Fi antenna you want to receive from is elevated above you then you would want this kind of a antenna to be swiveled in such a manner as to put the whip at a 90 degree orientation to the remote station to allow signal reception or transmission off of the sides of the whip where the power is greatest.

Due to the way the receive and transmit pattern is in the shape of a toroid or doughnut this type of antenna can give good gain while at the same time being omni-directional, except above and below the antenna where you don't need to waste the power anyway. If you want a antenna which has much higher gain look for a more directional antenna such as the flat panel antennas, Yagi or a parabolic reflector type of antenna which depending upon the size, can have 20 dB (or more) of gain which is a factor of 100 making a 100 milliwatt or 1/10 of a watt signal seem as powerful as a 10 watt signal, or a 1 watt signal as powerful as 100 watts. If you buy a flat panel Wi-Fi antenna and get one rated for 20 dBi of gain the half power beam width for both receive and transmit will be about 20 degrees.

Got this awhile back and have had a thorough time to use it. Excellent range and signal quality. 100% to laptop downstairs and PS3. 100% to the wireless comps upstairs.

The router with the antenna on it is in my bedroom in the front of the house. Before with the dinky stock antenna I was only getting about 65% signal downstairs. Now 95%-100% all the time.

Good product and fast shipping.

**WARNING**

This is a rip off.
Generic garbage
Don't get fooled like I did. )c:

Performs less effectively than a 3dBi antenna.

Get the real Alfa 9dBi antenna. That thing's got mad range.

Other than the quick delivery there was no net gain in performance or reception worth praising.

I attached these to two Asus WL-520GU routers with DD-WRT for use in a WDS set up, reception using the stock 4 dBi antennae differed little from using these items.

Also, one antenna had a loose rotating joint, necessitating the use of tape to keep it steady.

66 cents? I paid $3.99 for two crappy pieces of plastic. Signal reception went from weak to non-existent. They make you wait, AND make money at the same time? I wish I could serve to them a piece of their products up their chute.

Antennas look sturdy and nice. Professional:) So, you'd expect they add range compared to the stock ones. Not really... Measured signal in different places of the house, pretty much same level (-40...70Db) as with the stock antennas

This antenna actually performed a little worse than the stock antenna that came with my USRobotics wireless router. Using WirelessMon, I averaged 26% to 28% signal strength (-68 dBm to -69 dBm) using this massive 14" antenna which claims to have 10 dBi gain. With the same scenario, I averaged 36 to 42% signal strength (-56 to -61 dBm) using my stock 3" antenna which claims to have 2 dBi gain. My range also seemed greater using my stock antenna. I was expecting some wireless performance improvement based on the claims in the description of this product, but ended up wasting my time and had at lest 10% better signal strength using my original antenna over this one. The antenna also will not stay vertical when using the 90 degree elbow near the SMA connector. No matter how tight you have it fastened, the swivel at the connector is too loose, and the antenna wants to swivel down to horizontal until it can rest on something.

Look into other, more solid ways to improve range and signal strength like using a repeater.

I had great hopes in extending the range of my wireless surveilance cameras. When I installed this antenna, the range was shorter than with the stubbie antenna. I can not recommend this product to anyone. I have 10 of these that I guess I will use to stir paint.
