A Page Turner! What a delightful family story about a paranoid woman, and who wouldn’t be if walking in her shoes? After-all, her husband urged her to hire an attractive Swedish Blonde girl to be a live-in nanny. You follow along through all her head trips and jealous jabs coupled with her need to have someone competent to take care of her newborn son. She had a dire need to return to her law practice, to do so she needed this nanny. Ride the roller-coaster with this caring wife and mother, feeling all the highs and lows, her fears, her attempts to juggle a life that is falling apart as we read. She was trapped in a compromised position. An interesting and surprising twist comes along, so I don’t want to reveal any more of this emotional and well-crafted story. Kudos to the author!
Just finished reading “Woman’s Work” by Sylvia Mulholland. I love it! What a thrill to read with all the twists and turns throughout. It reads like real life and was very easy to identify with and bond with Kali, the main character. As a working mother, I found myself in her shoes, cheering her on and worrying with her as she navigated each hurdle that came at her. I laughed, cried and wondered with her to the very end.
Sylvia Mullholland's characters are brilliantly written, ironic, and flawed, making them very human and relatable. For any woman trying to juggle a career and a young family, this is a must-read! Kali Miller, the main character here, takes us with her on a wild ride, navigating the challenges of the legal profession, a new baby, an absentee husband, and a meddling nanny. Best of all his how the story is truly laugh-out-loud hilarious. Can't wait for Mulholland's next book!
