Max and Drew have been seeing each other for a few weeks now and both seem to be falling for each. Now that Drew and Maxie are together she learns about his BDSM lifestyle. Maxine finds that not only is the man that took her virginity intro the lifestyle, she finds herself loving it. Maxine gets to meet the rest of the McKenzie family. Maggie, Declan, and who could forget Adam, the funny wild brother. They all love her like she is one of their own. They welcome her with open arms.
Drew gets introduced to Maxine dad, Tom Kirk, who loves his daughter more than anything. Drew is very nervous to meet him since Maxine told Drew her dad has guns. Once Drew meets him he learns a lot from Papa Kirk and his love for his daughter.
This is one great love story with plenty of kinky sex and BDSM play. Drew is not like some Doms . He is a sweet guy even when he is teaching Max how to play.
I don't want to give anything away but if you need a really good read please read THE MANHATTAN BOUND SERIES!! Juliet is an amazing author who knows how to pull you in and not let you go. She has a way of describing details so that it seems you are there seeing what they see!!! Juliet thank you again for this great read!!!!
Drew and Maxine’s story continues in this second in the Manhattan Bound series. Each instalment builds on the last so you definitely want to read them in order. Maxine is diving into many firsts in her new life in New York City. While still struggling with grief, Drew has opened her eyes and her heart to possibilities… She has a new job, a new home and a new boyfriend, and all of them are going to keep her on her toes!
This story is a warm, rolling romp of emotion and family. While Maxine still struggles with feelings of grief and uncertainty, her relationship with Drew continues to grow stronger. There are some interesting twists and turns as the two explore and expand their sexual relationship and strengthen their emotional bond. With family and friends providing support, love and laughter there is a lot going on this lengthy novel set in the Big Apple. Ben and Adam provide comic relief and hidden depths and are two of my favourite characters. Everyone should have Ben for a best friend!
While the pet names used by the main characters grated on me after a while it didn’t lessen the love and feelings behind them. This is only the second of four instalments of this series and I’m looking forward to the next….
**Reviewed for Nerdy, Dirty & Flirty**
This book is all about the build. Slowly, as their relationship grows, you see Maxine emerge herself into her submission. And Drew couldn’t be a better Dom. He’s calm and careful with her, but still gives her just what she wants.
And the kink scenes are smoking! She takes them from playing in a luxury department store to an old rotting treehouse and one scene is just as hot as the last!
You also get Drew’s backstory in this book, which is absolutely gut-wrenching. And Maxine remains unwavering, and their love does blossom with their trust in each other.
I also have to say, Juliet does a fine job with two other facets of the series in addition to building a believable relationship between Maxine and Drew. The devil is always in the details and Juliet gives you plenty. No one has in recent fiction history brought New York City to life as she has. As a New Yorker, that’s one of the things I love most about these books. I feel right at home.
Additionally, the supporting characters in this series are just wonderful. I adored Ben, Maxine’s best friend, in book one, and his wicked sense of humor rings true in this book, too. What I like, too, is that you quietly see his own story evolve. Maxine’s dad is tough and tender. However, Drew’s brother Adam steals the show. A serial entrepreneur, Adam is known for wearing white socks with sandals, and even though he loves to pull off a good prank, he never wavers in his underlying love for his older brother.
If you haven’t done so yet, read Weakened. And then you’ll want to head right over and one-click Wrapped. Juliet is one the most talented new voices on the scene. Her settings and her characters are fresh – no billionaires or bikers here. And you will be thoroughly entertained from start to finish.
Drew and Maxine continue with their romance. The second in the series has some sweet surprises and hilarious moments with Adam and Ben. I can't get enough of those two! You really feel as tho your in the book with the characters.
I love how diverse this book is. It's not just your average bdsm or romance novel. It has something for everyone. Looking forward to book3! 4.5/5 stars
