It's an amusing book. Kind of "The Wild Wild West" meets "All's quiet on the Western Front". A comic sort of SiFi with some blood and guts hinted at.. A bit too long and predictable perhaps, but a good diversionary read.
Every WW1 notable was mentioned , even a sexy psychic girl friend (who happens to be the daughter of a famous politician). The only famous character left out in this implausible tale would be Lenin skulking around reading romantic poetry, and spouting Marx. "Flying" submarining tanks and cannibalism tossed in, makes it oddly laughable and a "What else will be brought into the story? " response from this reader..
All that said, it was a fun bedtime story..
If you want a good book for the holidays (or any other time) put this one on your Kindle. Don't expect to look up though - it's a 'page-turner'.
