WWE goes EXTREME in this high octane pay-per-view event. Each of the matches have special stipulations as WWE Superstars battle for high profile championships and pride. The 2010 edition featured Street Fights, Steel Cage Matches, Strap Matches and more extreme antics. Who knows what lengths the Superstars of Raw and SmackDown will go to top last year's event?

Given how lackluster Wrestlemania was, Extreme Rules was a fairly good show.

-Last Man Standing Match: CM Punk vs. Randy Orton: These two have had a great rivalry, their match at Wrestlemania was one of the few bright spots of that show. This was a pretty brutal match and the crowd was split in the beginning cheering for both men. Punk brings out a kendo stick, repeatedly hitting Orton with it, even going after his shoulder that has been injured in the past. Punk sets up a chair in the corner but gets swung into it head first. Punk hits a nice high kick but he takes a nasty backdrop onto the barricade, but makes it back up before the 10 count. Orton hits an RKO on the announce table but it doesn't break. Punk counters Ortons punt into a modified GTS on the steel steps, but Orton gets back up. Orton hits a top rope RKO and Punk is down for the count and Orton wins. 9/10.

-Tables Match for the U.S. Title: Kofi Kingston vs. Sheamus (Champion): This is an added match and the crowd seemed dead. There were some nice spots like Kofi jumping onto the ropes to avoid going through a table. Kofi jumps off the top rope slamming Sheamus through a table to become the new U.S. champion. An ok but not great match, especially cause of the dead crowd. 5/10.

-Nice backstage promo by the newly turned heel R-Truth, good idea to do something different with him.

-Country Whipping Match: Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole & Jack Swagger: Cole comes out covered in bubble wrap (you read that right) to absorb the impact of the leather straps used in this match. This is exactly what you'd expect with Lawler and Swagger carrying most of the match though Ross gets in some nice shots on Cole and Swagger.

The third annual Extreme Rules Pay Per View from the WWE comes just a few short weeks after Wrestlemania XXVII and set a number of storylines in motion. Highlighting the event was John Cena meeting The Miz and John Morrison in a Triple Threat Steel Cage match for the WWE Championship. Other matches include Randy Orton meeting CM Punk in a Last Man Standing match, Kofi Kingston meeting Sheamus in a Tables match for the WWE United States Championship, Michael Cole and Jack Swagger meeting Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler in a tag team Country Whipping match, Rey Mysterio battling Cody Rhodes in a Falls Count Anywhere match, Layla meeting Michelle McCool in a No Countout, No Disqualification Loser Leaves WWE match, Christian versus Alberto Del Rio in a Ladder match for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship, and Big Show and Kane meeting Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson of The Corre in a Lumberjack match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. For fans of sports entertainment, this one is a winner.

Match #1 Last Man Standing Match: CM Punk vs. Randy Orton - 4.2/5.
This match was really fun and awesome to watch. Both these guys pulled out all the spots and got awesome match out of it. Really cool spots in this one. Orton gets the win after an RKO off the top rope, after multiple shots from the cane.

Match #2 Tables Match for the United States Championship: Sheamus vs. Kofi Kingston - 3/5
Last minute match, but it was a heck of a match. Kofi came off the tope and leg dropped Sheamus through a table outside the ring. It looked awesome.

Match #3 Country Whipping Match: Michael Cole & Jack Swagger vs. Jerry Lawler & Jim Ross - 2/5
Seriously? What could I say about this match? Cole and Swagger get the win.

Match #4 Falls Count Anywhere Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio -3.5/5
I rememeber this match being really fun. This was a rematch from WMania27, which Cody won. Rey Mysterio gets the win and gets revenge on Cody Rhodes.

Match #5 Loser Leaves WWE Match: Michelle McCool vs. Layla -2.5/5
This was a pretty decent diva's match up. Layla gets the win, they both cry after the match. If this match is remembered for anything, it'll have to be thee debu of.. KHARMA. Comes out and lays out McCool.

Match #6 Ladder Match for the Vacant World Heavyweight Championship: Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio - 4.5/5
I loved this match, it was great. Edge had to vacant the title cause of his retirement. Del Rio already had match, but CHristian had to win a Battle Royal to earnt the shot. Lots of cool spots in this match. Brodus Clay gets busted open, hard way. Del Rio got distracted by Edge, Christian took adavntaged and won the Vacant World title. Very emotional moment.
