He's someone who wasn't supposed to be where he is today for one reason or another but pursued & not only made it to WWE after 15 years but as you can see from the DVD cover alone that he also reached the top of the card as the Universal Champion & this is his story or in this case, his show...the Kevin Owens show. You'll hear from friends & his father along with other superstars & wrestling personalities including Sami Zayn, Steve Corino, Johnny Gargano, A.J. Styles, Daniel Bryan, Neville, Seth Rollins, Chris "Jimmy Jacobs" Scovile, Triple H, William Regal, Dean Ambrose, John Cena along with different footage used from such independent companies as Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Ring Of Honor (ROH) & Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG).
The documentary begins talking about the first WWE event his saw & how it inspired him before going into his training & early days including the one match that he felt put him on the map before talking about the one piece of advice that Steve Austin gave him that he still utilizes to this day along with how wrestling helped him learn another language. His partnership & eventual rivalry with Sami as El Generico was discussed from who's responsible for certain elements of their story along with how the aftermath evolved into his reinventing himself into what one person described as "ROH's version of 'Stone Cold'". The one match with a specific opponent along with footage of the promo he cut using a real life incident that eventually got him his WWE contract was discussed next along with memories of his debut night throughout his entire NXT run to the point where he went from a fan at one event to meeting legends backstage that saw & knew about him a year later. His WWE run was discussed next from who's idea it was to debut against Cena & how that had a personal meaning to him to his reign as Intercontinental Champion followed by a behind the scenes look at him at WrestleMania 32 & the one person he ran into that made him feel like his career came full circle before ending the documentary talking about the importance of family, his feud against Sami Zayn, and how where he was at SummerSlam motivated him ending the documentary on highlights of his Universal Championship victory.
DVD extras include bonus stories such as what former WWE superstar trained him & the bad situation he put Owens in at one point, how he felt IWS was the Montreal version of ECW, his long history with Steve Corino, the importance of the Barclays Center, what Enzo Amore had to do with his first set of ring gear, the double meaning behind his ring name "Kevin Owens", how he accidentally gave himself a deadline to make it to the main roster, memories of his debut night on RAW & the importance of his grandfathers. Other extras include episodes of Superstar Ink & Unfiltered, two teaser trailers, a confrontation with Sami Zayn at a live event & his debut on RAW.
Kevin Owens vs. CJ Parker - This was Kevin Owens debut who started out hot in the opening seconds taking his "fight me" attitude out on more than just CJ to the point where the referee had to physically pull him back as CJ was able to get some shots in causing CJ to leave his mark on his opponent's face but Owens continued to just dominate onto making a strong first impression in his WWE debut.
NXT TakeOver: R-Evolution '14
vs. NXT Champion Sami Zayn - Owens attempted to play some mind games early causing Sami to have a response of taking the fight right to Owens only for him to use his momentum against him slowing the pace down in a dominate fashion to where Sami was heavily showing the effects with one announcer comparing his attempts to fight to "shadow boxing" but still executing major offense against Owens whenever possible including one move that only ended effecting him more but Owens continued to target one specific area of the body ruthlessly to the point where Corey Graves made one statement that summarized this match, "No one has dominated an opponent like this since Brock Lesnar (against John Cena) at SummerSlam."

vs. John Cena - A rare "champion vs. champion" match as Owens was in control early staying one step ahead of Cena having counters to his offense & delivering some impactful moves of his own while continuing to taunt him whenever possible before Cena was able to take advantage of an opening as they traded momentum with Owens attempting Cena's own offense against him while Cena hit some impactful offense from different areas such as the top rope to a springboard position`with a finish that definitely shocked the world as this was the type of performance that makes a superstar & impact which it did for Kevin Owens in his WWE PPV debut as he was able to pull out the performance from Cena that pushed him to the limit.

vs. Intercontinental Champion Ryback - Ryback was in control with his power early on before Owens was able to single out a specific body part & heavily work it over throughout the matches using various areas of the ring along with offense from stretch submissions to strikes & moves hybrid together to directly effect that part of the body to the point where Ryback showed effects executing attempting his power offense & signature move set in what was a good opening match that was all about telling a story of working over a body part.
Night of Champions '15
Last Man Standing Match vs. Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose - Both men started trading fist at the bell with Ambrose begging Owens to give him everything he delivered a suicide dive that temporarily took out more than just Owens as things got more physical using the ringside environment & weapons from a chair to tables along with sacrificing themselves just to keep their opponent down with some of their plans with the weapons not working to their advantage as they had various counters & reversals to each other's trademark offense in a match that can only be described in one word: PHYSICAL!

vs. Dolph Ziggler - Owens attempted to neutralize Dolph's advantages early on by using the same strategies to keep breaking any attempted momentum while also trash talking not only at his opponent's expense but the announcers at ringside only for Dolph to have a strong response on the outside right before Owens took advantage of his surroundings as well as both men continued to trade momentum using their signature offense along with having counters to their opponent's ultimate coming down to one man being able to catch the other in a back & forth competitor.

Kevin Owens & Triple H vs. Sami Zayn & Dean Ambrose
Paris, France • April 22, 2016
vs. Sami Zayn - This was set to be their final encounter as this was physical from the start as both men threw each other into the barricades early on as one man was able to get the advantage due to mistiming with stiff chops & kicks keeping his opponent on the mat while his opponent was able to still delivering some impactful offense but had another mistiming leading to him getting injured as they continued to trade momentum with one man heavily focusing on the injured body part of his opponent while his opponent had some impactful offense of his own & both men going through a sequence of counters & reversals plus being able to stop the other's offense dead in it's tracks with a high impact move in an awesome match competitive encounter causing this match to be J.B.L.'s "Someone call the sheriff cause they just stole the show" match of the night.
WWE Universal Championship Match vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Big Cass - Finn Balor had to forfeit the Universal Championship a week earlier due to injury leading to this match to declare a new champion with Commissioner Stephane McMahon & General Manager Mick Foley at ringside. The match was filled with different highlights & stories such as one man attempting to play the smart strategy right at the opening bell, the tease & eventual showdown between two specific opponents including one delivering an offensive maneuvers with so much momentum that it took him & his opponent over the top to the outside, short term alliances formed, the action spilling out of the ring to the outside on more than one occasion, series of one big move immediately followed by another taking down one or more opponents at once, one specific superstar delivering a move straight out of Mick Foley's playbook, and one man's appearance that was definitely a "game" changer in a non-stop action encounter.

[Best Of RAW & SmackDown 2016]
WWE Universal Championship/Hell In A Cell Match vs. Seth Rollins - Owens went outside looking for weapons right at the bell before Seth took control only for Owens to come back heavily focusing on a previously injured area of the body using the cell to his advantage multiple times while Seth fired back with series of combinations & delivering his signature offense on different areas of the ring before a series of events lead to the advantage switching to Owens' favor despite Seth using different weapons around ringside along with the cell itself only to keep having to fight the odds against him before it all became just too much for one man to handle in a match that resembled a majority of Owens' run as champion where the bell to bell action was quality in it's own right but it's the final moments that overshadow it depending on how you want to look at it.
Hell In A Cell '16
vs. United States Champion Chris Jericho - Both men started trading trading fist at the opening bell with Jericho attempting to end the match in the opening seconds going aerial & taking the match to the outside before Owens slowed the pace down using his body as a weapon executing the cannonball on an area of the ring not previously seen before along with unique combinations of his own as both men traded momentum utilizing the same type of offense & tactics to block each other's offense in a back & forth encounter.
(Blu-Ray) vs. Adrian Neville - This was a non-NXT Championship match as Neville was looking for revenge for not only what Owens did in his attacks Sami Zayn but also previously injuring him as both men started brawling on the floor with both men exchanging some impactul moves in the opening minute before Owens was able to neutralize his opponents strengths keeping him grounded & focusing on a part of the body while Neville continued to deliver his unique aerial ability along with underestimated strength including dead-lifting Owens into a german suplex in a competitive match that came down to one person being able to catch the other.

(Blu-Ray) vs. Sami Zayn - A rivalry that goes back over a decade through different names & promotions with this being their first WWE PPV singles match. Both started trading fist right from the start with both men being very aggressive both in the ring & outside using the environment around them to their advantage as they traded momentum with impactful moves including delivering the same move back to back & having counters for their opponents signature offense as it literally came down to one man being able to catch the other in a match that J.B.L. on commentary said, "someone call the sheriff, they just stole the show!"

(Blu-Ray) vs. Roman Reigns - This was a non-title match with the stipulation that Roman would be added to the Universal Championship match between Owens & Seth Rollins if he wins as both men started fighting around ringside in the opening moments before Owens was able to get the advantage neutralizing Roman's strengths & using his momentum against him taking advantage of his surroundings while Roman was still able to use his power on the defense turning Owens inside out at one point as both men traded momentum throughout the rest of the match ultimately coming down to one man taking advantage of a situation worked out in his favor in a back & forth match.
"RAW" Sept. '16
(Blu-Ray) WWE Universal Championship/No Disqualification Match vs. Seth Rollins - It should be noted that Seth Rollins was awards for his participation on Team RAW at Survivor Series with this championship match match the next night with the added stipulation that Roman Reigns & Chris Jericho were banned from ringside while Owens was in his come country of Canada as both men traded momentum before one man took advantage of the stipulation using a weapon to his advantage only for his opponent to also use the weapon as both men would use various weapons & take advantage of their environment making their regular trademark offense more impactful with the action going from in the ring to the outside & through the crowd at different points of the match before one man was able to use a "technicality" of the rules to the match to his advantage in a physical encounter.

[Seth Rollins: Building The Architect]
This documentary was one of the best ones in recent memory with WWE doing what they did similar to C.M. Punk's set where they spend of significant amount of time detailing his run in the independents using footage from different promotions & comments from people we usually don't or haven't heard from up to this point in a WWE presentation while the match selection was good including the quality match with Dolph that has been overlooked due to the fact that it was on "Main Event." In the end, I recommend.
As a side note for those newer fans of Kevin OWENS who want to see more of him during his pre-WWE days as Kevin STEEN, check out his previous Ring Of Honor sets (Ascension To The Top, Descent Into Madness showcasing his year long feud with Sami Zayn as El Generico, Hell Rising featuring a 2 hour shoot interview, ROH vs. S.C.U.M. highlighting his year long storyline involvement with this group, Thanks Steen Thanks).
