I have used these several times already. I smoke a lot of meat and use the pellet cages that get quite hot. I've tried the cheaper supposed higher temperature gloves and they absolutely don't compare to the quality and heat resistance of these gloves. I've picked up glowing red metal with these. The other cheaper gloves made of two layers,one thin inside glove and one outer glove (sometimes with silicone on it), melted causing me burns to my hands, at temperatures far below their advertised threshold. These gloves come in different sizes which is also great since I have big hands. These are thick quality leather gloves with soft fur on the inside. Worth every penny of the cost. Don't waste time and money on the cheaper gloves. You will get burned. Literally.

I bought strictly to use for the wood stove. They worked as they should except the gloves are not very heat resistant, got hot after a couple of minutes. The fingers could of been thicker or had more insulation around them so they wouldn't get too hot. They get the job done because it is hard to find a good glove to use all season with the wood stove. The size small was a good fit for my smaller sized hands, so that was a plus for me. I measured my hand and bought according to the size chart. I also bought a pair for my husband in x-large according to his hand size and the chart. I don't know the durability yet because I got them a week before I stopped using the wood stove for the season

I mainly use these for loading up a wood stove, works really well, you don't feel anything at all when placing wood onto hot coals or fire.

Placing your had directly onto items that are extremely hot you'll start to feel it in the gloves after a few seconds so, if your plan is holding onto red hot metal for more than 10 seconds I wouldn't use just these gloves.

They are very comfortable and durable as well, use them for grabbing more wood and no really wear I can see on them over the course of a year.
