I have a iphone 7+. My whole work live is in this device. I do not have or want a iPad. I want to take paper notes, transfer them automatically and have them finally ready for use on my phone and laptop. The Inkspace app that manages the communication with the pad stores all information and sends it to the cloud (luckily no one can read my handwriting). What then? Its in the cloud. Nice. So what? getting it on my laptop and download it as PDF is a manual step and requires Internet connection.
Inkspace based OCR costs me almost 4$/Month ... c'mon, I have spent a 100$ on a pen/paper notepad already. Upload to Evernote or Onenote needs to be done manually for every page. Not very practical. In reality it is annoying, because I never know which page I uploaded last.
And also, if the device turns off because you fell asleep in a meeting it won't turn on once you continue writing. You have to turn it back on and later combine the pages (the tool does not know which page you are writing on, so every time you sync or turn on, it creates a new digital page).
You see, while it provides a way to digitize your ink it requires a new level of attention without giving the advertised "no brainer" benefit of going digital. So unless there is a automated sharing with OneNote/Evernote I have to return the device.
Coming to my initial "unless you have a Ipad" statement ... There is a neat pice of software called Bamboo Paper. it is basically a digital notebook that can read these digital pages and edit/store them properly. Unfortunately, this s/w is not available for iPhones.
BTW, there is no much support for this device. Most help pages lead into 404's and there is not much via the manual. So lern if for yourself ... or not. Maybe I am missing something, but for now my digital workflow stops on my phone. If I have no access from my laptop and the ability to search my notes without relying on a cloud connection, this whole idea is great but not ready for prime time.
The handwriting recognition continues to be excellent, and other than the price of the pen/paper (small A5 is a hard size to come by), this is a wonderful tool. They also just rolled out a great new feature that allows you to 'tag' your notes with #'s and Inkspace will automatically organize your notes within those tags. Brilliant feature that saves an administrative step on the backend.
I would have given this tool 3 stars prior to the new updates. But Wacom has done great work to make this product really a standout. Can't recommend enough.
FYI - I am not sponsored to make this review in any way. I simply LOVE THE SLATE and cannot be bothered by all the one-star reviews on this (I’ll say it again) ESSENTIAL tool. Peace.
While everything came in, the product was easy to install, the pen wrote amazingly, and the app was user-friendly.
The product's pen tracked all of my movements, even when I didn't want them to. Which was very upsetting because everything else worked great.
A suggestion would possibly have some sort of switch or button that turns this off. But until that sort of thing happens have I to, sadly, return the item.

The slate itself works as advertised. I have played with it a bit and the files saved as .svg work fine. The ink refills are tiny so I am a little worried about how long they will last. I am also worried with how Wacom has this set up if people will just not bother with it? I am hoping a 3rd party will make an app to sync it with PC.
The whole experience has been disappointing.
Currently the device only work well with my Blackberry 10 phone against all odds (Because most android apps don't work on there due to Blackberry)
Also I wish the device had a windows program/app to sync with a windows PC for times where we may want to sync via our pc or for those who do not have a phone (Yes not everyone has phones) or for those without a compatible phone.
