After hearing the author of this book on National Public Radio, and being animal lovers and foster parents for rescued dogs, we ordered the book. We hoped it would help us better understand some of the dogs we foster who have had unfortunate pasts. The book was very disappointing. It was very simplistically written, and every chapter relating a "communication" with a dog or cat seemed just like the one before. Nothing extraordinary or unique. Neither my husband nor I finished the book. We were both disappointed!

Inspiring & I am an animal communicator. Good to know he has cases that do not come home & a reminder not all missing animals come home for various reasons. I would be happy to refer this book to other animal communicators if they want inspiration.

Tim Link is an animal communicator. He talks to animals, as many of the rest of us do. The difference is that they talk to him. He says every animal has a tale. Link’s skills come in handy. He visits lonely, confused shelter dogs and cats; he also visits animals that might for some reason be unhappy in their homes. The reasons for a pet unhappiness vary. It might be a change in the household routine, diet or cat litter. Perhaps a new person or pet has come into the household recently.
Link also assists in finding lost animals, but he says he needs to be contacted immediately. The longer an animal has been lost, the more difficult it is to communicate with that animal.
Talking to animals is more than solving their problems. We can
learn a lot from household pets. One cat told Link about the ghost cat that lived in his household. Sure enough the previous owner of that house had a cat that died there in the household; the cat descriptions matched.
Link can also communicate with pets who have as he put it transitioned. They have, in other words, died.
If you are looking for a how to book on how to communicate better with your pet, this isn’t it. It is however, a nice collection of stories about animals and the tales they told to Tim Link, animal communicator.

Anyone who loves animals and wants to know more about what they are thinking should read this book. It's magical!!!

I've had the pleasure of having Tim "read" my two dogs. The reading was spot-on! Tim is a very talented animal communicator and author.

I highly recommend this book!

I was so looking forward to reading this book. I really wanted to enjoy it and give an all star review. But I cannot. I have worked with pet communicators and people psychics, and I do know each one has their own method of connecting with Spirit or an Animal. But this book showed nothing in that way. He just reiterated the same thing for each story, "I receive visuals, smells, words, taste from the animals". Although I truly believe Mr. Link is a kind, honest and caring person, that just is not enough for a book to be delivered in a way that is not only entertaining, but enlightening! I am also a dowser. My father taught me and his father taught him. It would have been nice if he had a chapter devoted just to map dowsing! That would have been awesome! Dowsing entails using a learned skill plus one's own intuition. And trying to locate lost objects, people or pets is time consuming. Perhaps it was just too much for him to go into details for this book. But I was truly looking forward to this book containing some of his own perspective and details on map dowsing. This book reads as a children's book, so that I feel is its asset. Give it to a child or read it to a child. It would most likely be enlightening for someone under 10 years old. I am no longer that age!

Starting with the title page, we know exactly what this collection of tales is about: `Conversations with Our Animal Friends'. And conversations are what these tales are, as Tim Link, a renowned animal behaviorist, actually talks with animals, finding out exactly what is troubling them. They also talk back - not quite in the same way as does Dr. Dolittle's menagerie, as these are all true tales, but in a way that is laced (pawmarked?) with meaning.

Each of the more than thirty tales in Wagging Tales relates Tim's encounter with one or more animals, ranging from the more usual cats and dogs to a far from conventional praying mantis. Developed over the space of forty years, Tim's telepathic insights into the different animals that people this work are based on his keen and careful observation of the way in which they behave.

Although we are told that the pictures of animals that precede all of the tales are not necessarily of the actual animals with which the author worked, illustrating the book in this way brings the collection alive. Wagging Tales is filled with the essence of the animals with which Tim has heartfelt discussions about images, smells, tastes, words or feelings that bother them - his role as mediator between owner and pet is pivotal to the text.

Wagging Tales should appeal to all caring youngsters, as well as make relaxing reading for all animal lovers. Tim punctuates the tales with some sage advice on how to look after animals as well. His kindness towards animals radiates throughout the tales, warming the spirit of the text. Written to elicit a generous and loving approach towards all animals, this book should find a welcome home on every child's nightstand.
