The Wagner ProCoat is a 2800 PSI electric piston pump paint sprayer capable of spraying today's thick latex paints without thinning at .24 GPM (Gallons per minute) with a 1/2 HP motor. It produces the same great finish found with professional sprayers with features designed for the home-owner. Draw paint, stain, or sealers directly from the can. The adjustable pressure controls overspray while the spray gun swivel increases comfort. Great for whole house painting yet simple enough for sheds, fences, and decks. Paint your house, barn, shed, garage, deck, fence, cabin, lawn furniture, awning, lattice, and children's playground equipment. Don't even bother buying one of the guns with the pot hanging on the handle. Just too heavy to use for long. This machine sets up fast, works great and easier clean up than the "hang held pots" type. I just painted my house in three days and I never could have done it with a small unit. Just when you get going you run out of paint. With this unit being supplied by a 5 gal pot you just keep going. Even with a i gal can you just hang it from the handle on the machine and paint way. That machine is far from the gun at the end of the supply hose so it does not get all messed with over spray. The main clean up is done from a garden hose. Just turn on the water and the machine and it near cleans it's self. The gun come apart with ease and also is easy to clean up in a sink. Though this machine is $100 more than the hand held models it is worth every penny. Spray is so controlled that you dont need a lot of masking when working outside. I have not used it inside yet but after painting the outside of the house and seeing the control that I have I am not worried at all about painting an inside room with it. This machine is a real winner.

Perfect sprayer for painting fence

I bought this sprayer to help me save time staining my new 120 ft cedar fence. Well it did save me a lot of time doing the job. I used nearly nine gallons of lOlympic atex stain for this job. The sprayer worked well.
I had a couple of issues though. The first was that, I believe, the nozzle that is included is not the correct one for spraying the latex stain. I had to run the pressure higher to achieve a good spray pattern but made the overspray excessive. I will try a larger nozzle the next time. The second issue was during clean up of the unit. The material intake hose fitting where the suction filter attaches came apart when I used a garden hose to pressure flush the system, per instructions. The crimp fitting and the hose barb are very thin metal. I reattached it using a hose clamp but it still popped off getting sprayed with water. i need to pursue a more permanent fix. I'll contact Wagner for a solution. For the most part cleaning the unit was not hard, just time consuming.

We ordered this to paint a 8 x 14 shed. It worked great and was easy to use. We finished job and cleaned up diligently and prepared for storage per the manual with oil etc. It was stored in the house under controlled environmental conditions. We took it out 4 years later to use it and it won't prime. All filters, nozzles and valves were checked and everything was perfect. Finally looked at the pump itself and the end of the reciprocating pump piston sheared off. I cannot buy parts for it as Wagner themselves told me they don't sell internal parts.

Of course the unit is way past the warranty, but I could fix it if I could order a part. So now I have a $200 anchor that I only got about 4 hours of actual use out of.

These are disposable units not built to last.

I would not recommend Wagner sprayers to anyone.

I bought this sprayer to paint the walls of a rental property I recently purchased.
I was happy with the way it worked when I painted the first room, but then I started having trouble with the tip clogging up.
The paint can has to be at least 1/2 full or the pump loses its prime.
It makes a big mess when you clean it or change colors.
I ended up using a paint brush and roller to fix everything I tried to spray.
I was going to try to use it again to paint a basement, it was working better after I bought a new filter for inside the handle, but when I tried to flush out the hose I turned the spray selector knob too far and now the "prime" position does not work.
I wasted too much time and money on this sprayer since I bought it 7 months ago, It will be out with the other trash on garbage day.

Our house has machined cedar shakes for siding and painting it is hard with all the grooves in each shake. I've used an old Wagner sprayer in the past, which did just a passable job since you had to dilute the paint to get it to flow. Other times we've used brushes, which was long and tedious.

I decided to try this sprayer since it said it could spray paint without diluting the paint. Setup was easy, only requiring an adjustable wrench to tighten fittings. I suggest reading the instructions a couple of times before using the unit. Priming was no problem as it quickly accepted the paint. First time use of the sprayer did take a few test sprays to get the adjustment of the pressure right. Once done, the painting went rapidly. We were able to paint 3/4 a two story 2200 sq. ft. house plus attached garage in about 5 hours. We figure it would have taken that long just to paint the front of the house with brushes. That includes having to move ladders and scaffolding. Cleanup did take some time, but when you consider how much time the sprayer saved us, it was well worth it.

About a week later, we were able to finish painting th house and the sprayer worked flawlessly. setup and cleanup were quicker as we knew the routine. If you want to minimize wasted paint, you can spray the paint into your paint can as you're cleaning it. You may get a little water in the paint (latex), but that shouldn't hurt it.

Good sprayer for the price

This sprayer makes quick work of even big jobs. I do not recommend this for interior painting. It creates a paint vapor cloud that is difficult to breath in even with a respirator, and quickly clouds up goggles. Everything in your home will be covered in paint dust. I used it inside an empty house, and while it made the job fast and easy, the cleanup was considerable.

For exterior painting, this is a great tool for the homeowner. I expect I'll get a lot of use out of this over the years.

It's essential that you keep this unit clean for reliable operation. Make sure to take everything apart and clean it thoroughly. I used a toothbrush, and some potent degraser. The parts still look new (even though the unit itself is covered in paint).

Painted all interior doors and will be doing entire downstairs of house and expect this machine to work well. The cleaning is only slightly more onerous than brushes, etc, but I have a hot water garden hose and a big outside area to clean it. Once I start the oil based paint I might feel a little differently. Broke a piece of the suction hose, but it was my fault and an easy fix. Overall very happy. Bought thru Amazon and paid far less than Home Depot. Shipping was immediate and included in price.

Great product. Bought this paint sprayer for our new business that we're renovating. We only needed to spray specific areas and had to tape off a lot but the sprayer performed better than we imagined for 1st time sprayers with minimal over spray.
