This is a nicely built heat gun with a wide range of temperature settings, and two fan speeds. Most of my applications are electronic (heat-shrink tubing; drying things; etc.) and it works great for all of those, It can also get hot enough to strip paint, though I probably wouldn't use it for a big job, like stripping the side of a barn. It's designed for smaller projects and craft work, and for that it excels.
Contrary to information in answer to some of the questions about this product, it IS possible to run just the fan, without the heating element being on; that's how the unit cools down after use.
The one issue I have is that I haven't figured out how to get the power cord OFF the heat gun. It seems to have locked in place when I attached it, and the gun will not fit back in its box with the cord attached.
I would have ordered a case with it, which presumably avoids this problem, but there are accessories available for this gun (such as the case) which for some reason are not available through Amazon. So I went directly to Wagner and ordered a case and a couple of extra nozzles, Probably should have gone to them directly in the first place, instead of through Amazon. Oh well, live and learn.
Now if they'll just tell me how to get the damned power cord off!
