My friend is a professional dog groomer and she recommended this model. I have 3 Cocker Spaniels, one of them has a really thick curly hair. Working with these clippers was like cutting through butter. I find it funny when people complain about the blades getting hot. Of course they get hot. That's what the cooling spray is for. I used them for entire hour, applied cooling spray occasionally, but the body itself never got hot. Love this product, would strongly recommend!

I've been a professional full-time dog groomer for 6+ years, and I use these guys on the dogs with very thick, tough coats (cockers, doodles with heavy matting, very matted sheepdogs, etc.). I've owned three of them over the years, and 2 things always wear out VERY quickly for me: the on/off switch and the red blade drive mechanism. Neither are hard to replace if you know what you're doing, but it's still a pain to order parts or change it all out when they break in the middle of grooming a dog. I've found this so annoying that I save these clippers JUST for very heavy duty jobs and use Andis clippers for everyday easy-medium jobs. These KM-2s are lightweight and powerful, but, like most Wahls I've tried, on the louder end of the spectrum. Overall, a great clipper for the price, if you're willing to change out the blade drives constantly.

I had previously been an Oster A-5 Devotee, but purchased these at the recommendation of somebody I worked with who groomed dogs.
They are quiet, they stay cooler than A-5's, they fit your hand better, and they have plenty of power. I used mine for both fine show clipping big jobs like body clipping horses.
