As the title says, it’s been used to shave my head 3 days a week on average for nearly a decade. That comes out to about 1500 - 5min sessions. That means it has 125 hours of use without an issue or adjustment.
I’m back to this same listing here on Amazon to purchase a new one. It slipped into the sink with a small amount of water, and there it sat for 18hrs and the blade and internal cam got rusty. I don’t need tetanus, so replacing it.
(and yes, they’re made out of carbon steel for long life, stainless would fail or chip).
I use 90% isopropyl alcohol (not 70%, it has too much water and will rust) or clipper spray to lubricate them. If you’re using them multiple times a week and don’t use something to lube and cool the blade, it’ll wear out and cut poorly. If your head is greasy AF, you’re good to go! Haha
Blade replacement is #2105 (6X0) by the way. ;)
Noise is completely normal for professional clippers with solenoids like this. Yea, it’ll wake your room mate, but there powerful.
Adjustment is on the side for control the solenoid output. I know how to adjust them and never needed to. I turned to adjust once and ended back at the same position.
These will clip your hair down to nearly scalp level. I bought lithium power cordless clippers which were “professional” ones for over $100 from a beauty supply for travel. They can not cut this close at all, I have to use those clippers then use a razor.
FACT: after buying these in Jan 2013, I might razor my head once or twice a month. We all know head hair kills the blades fast on razors and I use to 3 times a week. Essentially, one blade a week.
$2.50 a quality blade replacement each week.
10 years would be $1200 saved.
