The process of waiting is not to be a passive time but a time where prayer and walking closer to Him while tuning into His voice is essential. Our focus on God, Mosima says, can help us realize God never changes and can give us peace unlike anything or anyone else. "When our peace is dependent on the fulfillment of our heart's desire, we dethrone Jesus, the source of eternal peace from our hearts."
You will gain an understanding of worship and the value of creating an atmosphere where the goodness of the Lord resounds. While being encouraged along the way, learn truths from the examples of Abraham, David, and Joseph that can help you practice healthy habits. Also will be areas that hinder our ability to wait such as pride, fear, unfair comparisons, and lack of contentment.
Because waiting is inevitable for all of us, I encourage you to explore this book and learn healthy strategies that will help you in your journey. The author has set out and has successfully used her passion for writing to convey the Good News of Christ. She resides in South Africa and has been active in the ministry for over 10 years.
In Wait! Ms. Mosima helps us to see that a large part of the Christian walk involves waiting on God. God focuses on process, not outcome, and the author takes us through the Bible, in account after account, of how God used His prophets and Hebrew people in amazing ways--oftentimes that involved a lifetime of waiting. Some in the Bible even died without ever seeing their dreams fulfilled, but they died walking in the obedience of waiting on the Lord.
I found myself appreciating the maturity of Ms. Mosima's observations--some Christians will never understand the value of waiting in the Christian life, but Wait! will help many to see God's hand in all of it and not lose hope--Satan's ultimate tool of deception. Enjoy the journey through the pages of this book and be encouraged with Scripture references and examples of God's unfathomable love in the journey of uncertainty while waiting
Very highly recommend, I can't think of anyone who wouldn't get something out of this.
Mosima declares in her opening statement that, "Our ultimate goal should be to do all that pleases our Father and Maker. This book seeks to remind believers of a life of peace and joy to which God has called us and to encourage believers to wait when things do not go as they desire."
Ten chapters narrate everything from why God wants us to wait on Him, how we should have patience, and what happens when we don't, to the peace or pain resulting from our patient endurance waiting upon God's will. By using many of David's Psalms, Abraham, Moses, Samson, and especially the book of Job, Mosima shares stories of the great patriarchs of old; the lessons of patience or impatience they model and the resulting triumphs and tragedies.
With such pithy sayings as, "If you want to conquer the pain in waiting, accept that the pain exists but believe it will not kill you," Emelia uses Scripture, as from 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, to back up her belief. "God knows what you are capable of," she says. And I agree. Readers will take away a gem of understanding the nature of patience from reading this book. Told in a sing-songy rhythm, readers will also hear the measure of the joy in her lessons, no matter how difficult the topic.
