I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this book and I was very happily surprised! The heroine is an interesting combination of kickass, temper and softness - I got sucked right into her story. It's action packed right from the get go and there are lots of questions unanswered. Can't wait for the next book.

Tabitha is a 500 year old vampire and she is not the usual vampire. The characters are introduced quickly and they are not likeable at all. Jamison her friend tricks her and then blames her for being tortured by another vampire. Kiernan is introduced as the shifter king but no one seems to respect that. Everyone has sex but no emotions seems to be involved and they do not last. Horrible on all counts.

I'm a fan of Anita Blake's world, so I'm always on the lookout for writers who can enthrall me with their imaginative storytelling. This book, although far from perfect, is as close to an old school published writer as I've seen on Amazon.

Best parts of this book are that the words are fluid and the plot is fast paced so you really do want to turn the page and find out what happens. The author also has a knack for getting the reader to feel what her characters are feeling.

In terms of areas for improvement, I wish that the heroine was described more. I think all I can recall is that she's a beautiful (obviously) 500 year old vampire. I kind of like to have a better mental image of her and instead, had to rely on using the lead actress from "Lost Girl" instead. I also wished there was more background to the characters, but I guess it's not a full novel. Which leads me to the ending. I'm not a big fan of finishing a book without closure or a resolution...very irksome.

Overall, I'd recommend reading this, but I hope the author can finish up what happens to these characters and not start other novels on other characters in Centennial City.

A different spin on the latest "exciting" thing, vampires. It follows Tanith Quinn. Definitely not what I was expecting - she lures guys in & has sex with them & owns a club? Really? The story needed more depth to the characters. Overall it was an interesting read & a great way to kill some time if your into reading about sex, vampires & werewolves. Oh & witches.

It could have been a good story, but it was rushed. The author could have actually elaborated on stuff that you were just supposed to know. Adding to that problem, there were a lot of contradictions. She hates a guy, then she risks her life to save him. She says certain things are dangerous, then later says they aren't. She gives a room number, then later uses a different number for the same room. Not worth reading, and I wouldn't purchase any books from this author based on this book. I'm glad this book was free at least.

Waiting for Darkness, book written by Fionn Jameson. I read the description and was attracted to this book like a fly to a light. I mean, the whole supernatural subject is my favorite and, having found a book not directed for YA, I gave it a try. I mean, what harm could come from something new? I began reading and was actually interested in the story. It began well, it was a good beginning but as I continued reading it left me with nothing. I couldn't even connect with Tanith, I didn't get her...at all. The story itself has a good potential, the author just needs a little bit more of experience. I liked the way Jameson described, I could literally picture everything, but it is missing something. It lacked of substance, like a concise story. I think the book is too short, if it were a bit longer the author could have the opportunity to develop it more, to develop the characters (they pop out of the blue), I can't really say how any of the characters are, not even Tanith (other than being indecisive and not really confident). I give this book three stars only because the story has potential, the author can work a bit more on her writing style, organize the ideas a bit, she can make it work and make a good series out of it. I just hope this is true and I can get more of this story from Bite....
