Is there anyone of us who can honestly say we have not had to work through our ego issues? Thinking we "know it all" and waking up to the shocking realization that it s all made up, Alan Freedman shows us how humility and vulnerability, combined with finding God, brings us back to the truth...that Love is all there is. --Lori S. Rubenstein JD, Author of Forgiveness: Heal Your Past and Find the Peace You Deserve
The Walk by Alan Freedman is an unveiling of heart and soul from someone who has been through transformation. Alan has experienced religion in two different expressions, that both ended up in ritual and routine. He is now an advocate of relationships. Early in the book, Alan met God in a new depth, through Alan s failure as a husband. He came to realize that being a celebrity Christian was empty and without purpose. God showed Alan his own heart and began setting Alan free when he began to love his bride like Christ loves the Church. Alan s story echoes with many of us. It is a good thing, God did not show him too far into the future, or Alan may have turned away in fear and not found fulfillment.
The Walk is to be read like a thoughtful stroll, not a sprint. It will challenge you and if you let it...change you. --Lee Balinas. - M. Div., Ordained Baptist Minister
When the Berlin wall was taken down and both sides were exposed and free, it took a lot of courage and braun to accomplish such a thing. It was believed it was worth the risk. When a person is willing to take down their own walls and expose themselves in order to have freedom of the heart, mind and soul, that takes even more courage and an enormous inner strength. For Alan, it too was worth the risk.
Anyone willing to do such a thing and then to put it out there for the world to see, some to judge and many to learn from, it is worth taking the time to explore such a revelation.
This book should be read with an open heart and mind and a willingness to take the risk and the journey that Alan took to have his inner freedom and quite possibly your own! --Sheina Jacobson

The author does a FANTASTIC job of explaining each journey in a personal point of view which allows the reader to reflect and decide on their own what is important and useful in their lives. The story is enthralling as the author bares all for the reader – exposing his own humiliations and faults.
I feel BLESSED to have read this book and I know it has affected me in a positive way. Everyone has faults and prejudice tendencies, even if they aren't self aware of them. I foolishly didn't think I had many, until I let each chapter absorb in my minds-eye a few days. I will keep my heart open and my mouth shut, before passing judgment onto whatever event or circumstance is going on in the now. But the most important message I received was to never stop questioning and learning as to why we are here and what can I do to make it BETTER.
This book is a 'must read' to any and everyone. Whether or not you're looking for this type of read, stop and take a second look. I'm glad I did!
Well done Alan Freedman, and I look forward to more from you.
I will end this review with the authors own goodbye, “Keep walking!”
In order to make progress in any matter of great importance, we need to interact with people whose views are different from ours and stay open to "listening." He clearly draws his stance that we all are works in progress, always at the beginning of a new plateau and are meant to grow closer and closer to the Divine.
Whether or not you believe in an anthropomorphic deity or a more abstract concept of Creation, the author offers very convincing arguments relative to concepts and a mind set to live by. Highly recommended.
I would recommend this book to anyone! Great job Alan!
We should all be so blessed to find our paths in this world, using our God given free will to be led by something inside of us all that drives us to seek out and discover what our purpose is here in this place. Our spiritual journeys will not always be laid out before us in a straight line making it easy for us to stay the course. Life is filled with twists and turns and a spiritual walk is no different. Our faith is what drives us and sustains us over the sometime bumpy terrain giving us the strength to go on turning those occasional obstacles into doors and windows of opportunity. I highly recommend "The Walk", enjoy the spiritual journey.
