About the Author
Alasdair studied at the University of Cambridge, leaving with a BA in Natural Sciences and an MSci in Experimental and Theoretical Physics. His masters options included geophysics, and remote sensing. He went on to earn a PGCE specialising in Science and Physics from the University of Bangor. A secondary teacher for over fifteen years, he has plenty of experience communicating scientific ideas. He has been climbing, mountaineering, caving, white-water kayaking and skiing as long as he can remember. Growing up, he spent most of my spare time in the hills. Recently, he's been spending more time sea kayaking and swimming, and has got into trail running.
He is an experienced outdoor instructor, holding Mountain Leader, Single Pitch Award and Local Cave Leader Level 2 qualifications amongst others. He is also a course director for national navigation and climbing award schemes.
A fan of Time Team since it started, Alasdair has always been interested in archaeology. Non-intrusive techniques are his preferences, including landscape archaeology and geophys.
