This garment bag is perfect. I used every method of air transportation with this bag on my last trip: folded and placed in overhead, folded and placed beneath the seat in front of me, hung up in the flight attendant's locker, and checked with my suitcase. My suit, shirts, ties and shoes were all perfectly neat (previously professionally dry cleaned and still in plastic wrap) after each leg of the trip.
I loaded one suit, two dress shirts, ties, dress shoes, belt, and undergarments in this bag and after folding, it fits inside the recommended carry-on measurement box. Smaller planes don't have a locker for you to hang your garment bags, so folding it and putting in an overhead/checking it will sometimes be necessary. Either way, the clothes come out looking perfect. No damage to the bag after checking it too (or zippers).
