About the Author

RAY LOCK is a retired civil servant, who in 1965 was selected as first General Manager of the National Giro. In 1978 he retired and with his wife Jean moved to Suffolk, where both of them became immersed in the study of local history. His edition of the first volume of Walsham Court Rolls, published in 1998 is also available from Boydell & Brewer.
