I liked the story a lot. Jeanie is instantly likable. It took me a chapter or two to warm up to Eleanor, but actually she turns out to be the more interesting character, the one most in need of a healing relationship. The travel backdrop was very enjoyable -- a few times I found myself running off to Wikipedia to read more about some of the places the characters were visiting.
I especially like Miranda's writing style, and she gets better with each book. I get thoroughly frustrated with so many new authors -- especially romance authors -- who can't write and whose books are nothing but endless dialog. Miranda can write, and provides a good mix of dialog and narration, especially nice in a book that revolves around traveling to places I've never seen. "Waltzing on the Danube" is a very promising start for Miranda's new Americans Abroad series. I really like the idea of new characters in new settings for each book. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have read other books from the same author and found them enjoyable as well. I recommend this book as a quick, fun read with a believable happy ending!
