Magnus is a very likeable detective and we learn some of his history. This is by no means the first novel mapping out his life but I quite happily read it as a standalone story. Only a couple of minor characters are unexplored with all the others rendered in full HD. Many are doing the best they can so it's difficult to guess what's really going on, who may be lying and who may be guilty.
There is twist after twist among the main plot and several supplementary stories, leaving not a whole lot of space to deal with the Icelandic farmers who settled in Greenland. I shall have to satisfy my curiosity about that part of history with a little extra reading.

A refreshingly different subject, painstakingly researched. As the mysteries mount and the body stack grows, Magnus is right there following clues and false trails - but of course, he figures it out before the reader does!
Love the descriptions of Iceland, still a place I’d want to visit. Hoping for the next one sooner....need to know if the boy is...........and what is the police conspiracy.... or giving too much away!
It continues to provide some great reading and keeps your interest to the end
WZys enjoy these Magnus stories and history of
Iceland and the people who live there
