The material is thick so it could keep you warm but it is a lightweight jacket not for very cold
weather. It looks good and very flattering with just the right length.
The jacket is lightweight but protects from cold winds very well, as well the high collar does.
The jacket is more for mildly cold weather and not for northern winter cold weather. It doesn't have much padding or protection. The liner on the inside is very slick so if you're looking to add a flannel shirt or a hoodie to the inside of the jacket to buff it up a bit it doesn't work out too well as the liner makes anything just slide right out of it. I would recommend either getting safety pins to hold it in there or just cut out the liner and stitch something else in there like a hoodie or a shirt.
The cuffs around the wrists have buttons on them and when you button the sleeves up it pretty much strangles your wrists, even for people who don't have large wrists; which means you'll have to go all 70's on the jacket and unbutton a couple your shirt and do a deep plunge v neck and leave those sleeves open like you're at the disco.
It's still a good jacket, just minor issues. Would probably recommend to someone. No idea who. But someone.
On to the sizing:
I'm 5'10'' 170lbs, slim-ish build, normally wear size US size "M" and like a relatively snug fit. Consequently, I first ordered a US M - and its shoulders/sleeves were perfect, but the waistline was a little too tight. Ordered an L to see what the difference might be, and the sleeves were too long and the jacket was too baggy. I'm keeping the "M" size because I will be wearing it unzipped or half zipped with only a t-shirt underneath most of the time.
In conclusion, this might not be for the American waistlines. But, on the plus side, the tight fit might keep reminding me to not go overboard on the snacks. ;)
