From the Author
When you look due north, straight out to sea from the bottom of the High Street of my home town in Norfolk, England, there's no land between you and the North Pole. And those icy winds still hold some kind of weird attraction for me. The Netherlands is due east, and to the north east lies Denmark, Sweden and Finland.
I was once lucky enough to visit Helsinki and what a beautiful city it is. The perfect setting for a glamorous romance between a Finnish heiress, and Daidan, brother to Tariq and Sahmir, whose business is diamonds.
From the Inside Flap
Taina Mustonen brushed her fingertips over the arctic white fur cushion, noticing with painful clarity how her fingers were so tense that their tips quivered. She sunk them deep into its pile so he wouldn't notice. "You're right. I do want something."
She channeled the tension inside into a smile: tight at first but with focus it gentled into the mocking smile she desired. "I've decided to keep my side of the bargain."
He didn't speak at first but she could see the shock register in his eyes, even while he carefully schooled the rest of his expression into an uncommunicative mask. "To have our child?"
She took a long, deep breath. "Yes, I want our child."
His gaze narrowed. "You walked away from our wedding, just walked away and kept walking while I waited for you, not knowing. And I hear nothing from you except a trail of bank transactions, credit card bills, for two years. Now, without explanation you return saying you want our baby. What the hell is going on, Taina?"
