With "Separation Point" Jennifer Sable has created a slightly futuristic world very similar to our own and populated it with strong likable characters who have just enough flaws to make them feel real. The story is filled with adventure, romance, and a great friendship. The romance in this book is real, but gentle. If you want graphic sex scenes, find another book. Until there is another in this series, it looks like I'll be reading this one again just to spend more time with her characters. Please write more!
Disclaimer: I met the author at a book club meeting and she gave me a PDF version since I don't have a Kindle (sorry Amazon). I liked "Separation Point" so much I paid the author for it at the next meeting even though I'd already read it for free!
It also reminded me a bit of JD Robb's In Death series. The story-lines are completely different, but both are set in the near future and I think fans of top-of-her-field Eve Dallas and her journey to trust and love and overcome her troubled past may find a new favorite in Captain Effone (rhymes with Stephanie) Pacifica.
I definitely recommend this for anyone looking to try something new.
