The title of the book suggests that it might have been written by Jesse Ventura, but it is actually a very detailed and meticulously foot-noted analysis of how the Military-Industrial complex operates.

Peter Dale Scott is a first-rate thinker but a second-rate writer. As fascinating as the subject is, as penetrating as his analysis is...I found the book a bit of a snooze.

A better book for a casual reader/concerned citizen interested in the topic might be "JFK: Why He Died and Why It Matters" but for the hard-core scholar, this book is a must-read.

Peter Dale Scott's book is not one that many are willing read with an open minds. The trouble is, and I too have experienced this inner response, that what Scott writes challenges our deepest beliefs about our own country. That is difficult to deal with to those of us who believed the United States being a government where the ideals are truth, democracy, and "the American way." Using the word "Conspiracy" in the title probably also cuts both ways, but for those with open minds might notice that whatever happened on 9/11 it was a conspiracy: 19 Moslems boarding flights, managed, with some on ground help and the king pin in a cave in Afghanistan, pull of the greatest conspiracy aqainst the most militarized nation in the world.
