Omg that was hot. I don't think I have gotten that wet and stayed that wet reading right through an entire book like that before!

I loved the characters, especially the main ones, but all of them were brimming with life and relatable character traits. I could not put this book down, I had to read every word to the end.

The action is steaming hot, and the story stands on its own feet even without the hot action scenes. Makes for an intoxicating mix as the reader.

Riven and Holy are gorgeous characters, so very easy to fall in love with. And the building heat between them is so much fun to read. This story touches on so many things I love.

A very satisfying few hours spent in the pages of your book, thank you Paul Lucas, for yet another great little read.

As a fan of Lucas' work, both erotic and non, I have always expected a great story mixed with cute sexytimes, and this one does not disappoint. Taking an interesting tangent from his "Hot Dragon Girls" series, "The War Dragon's Mate" gives us a new breed of dragon, a more warlike species from a world different from the homeworld of the dragon girls of the prior mentioned books, and this time, flipping the genders. Now, one may find this trope predictable and often-used, but Lucas knows how to keep a reader interested, with the dynamic between the cage fighting war dragon, Riven, and Holly, the shy, self-doubting human girl who becomes fascinated by this blue-scaled warrior and the underground world of dragon fighting, betting on his fights and ultimately becoming his manager and lover. The twists and turns in the plot that result in such an involvement are interesting to watch, an the slow-burn style of sexual tension and release between the two is a different style from his flat-out, get-naked-and-do-the-rumpy-pumpy erotic moments that many of his other stories display, chiefly due to Holly's concerns about Riven's strength and size. Lucas does a shift into the mind of a girl as the focal character this time, and it definitely shows in the difference in tone, where this story is a bit more toned down than the others, something that feels somewhat awkward, but does not really hinder the story. And as always, Lucas gives a great bit of worldbuilding in explaining the culture of these fighting dragons and their interactions with each other. It's an altogether different spin on Lucas' fantasy/scifi extraspecies erotica that a fan will definitely like.

I've read many of the amazon erotica stories around here, and I really enjoyed this one. Enough to post a review. This story balances drama, action, and thoughtful story directions with great scenes of hot intimate action. Characters were developed and story actually feels complete by the end, unlike many other stories found around here. Still, I hope Mr. Lucas continues this series with future installments.

If your an adult and a fan of erotic material featuring monstrous beings with humans, I'd recommend checking this story out.
