From the Author
In my previous series, The Gem Powers Series, the main character is Lana Grayson, a young gemologist who discovers the portal to the gnome world. Her adventures and those of the oppressed gnomes she befriends continue in books two and three. By the end of book three, the story is evolving from a story about humans helping gnomes, to a story about gnomes facing new challenges on their own. With that in mind, it seemed appropriate to create a spinoff series, making it clear to readers that the story will now focus on gnomes and their unique world.
If you've already read the first series, Wards and Wonders will feel like a natural progression of the story. If you begin with Wards and Wonders, you'll realize there's a backstory to unfolding events, but you should have no trouble following along.
I expect many who finish Wards and Wonders will want to go back and read the first series. If read in that order, you'll already know about various important revelations, but knowing things before the characters do can be fun. It's also rewarding to see characters at an earlier point in their lives before they evolve into the people you know.
Whatever reading order you chose, thank you for trying my books. I hope you find the story unique and a lot of fun.

Kay L. Ling began writing fiction at an early age. In grade school, her stories evidenced a sense of wonder and love of adventure. In one, mythical creatures lived and traveled inside a rainbow, and in another, a bored sixth-grader turned her teacher into a maroon sofa and then teleported herself to London.
