I bought this product for my rabbits (4lbs and 3lbs) for when they are out free roaming. I thought that it would be big enough for them to fit under considering it is a size large and I have small rabbits. When I got it it was soooo misshapen that it could not be used as a tunnel for even a small guinea pig. Basically I overpaid for a chew toy for my rabbits. My rabbits Shiny Things and Beauty LOVE willow and eat it faster than I can buy it. All that this is going to be able to be used for is gnawing. This is not able to be used as a tunnel as intended. I have the small version of this that I got at a petstore for ~$3 give or take, that I use for my hamster. The small size is a great size to be used for hamsters, mice, gerbils and maybe rats. When I was getting my small size there were lots of them that were misshapen. I should have kept that in mind when buying this one on amazon. I say all of this to warn anybody looking to get one of these. I do have to admit that my rabbits have had a nibble on it so it might not go fully to waste.
EDIT: I ended up ordering a second one of these. It came in in great shape and was not misshapen at all. This seems to be my rabbits favorite toy. Whenever they are out of their cage they go straight to it and chew on it. They have completely destroyed the 1st one I got them. It is the cheapest way to get willow that I have found. If your rabbits (or guinea pigs) like willow (which most of them do, I have yet to find one that did not like it) then I think that this is a great toy/chew for them.

If you are looking for a natural, safe toy for rabbits or rodents, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM!I have bought this tunnel consistently since 2014, and, as some reviewers have pointed out, the is no longer made from natural, untreated wicker. Now it’s made of reeds that clearly have been stained to give the appearance of wicker. The twigs / vines woven around the edges have a waxy, varnish-like finish. The product is definitely NOT SAFE for rabbits or other small animals that will chew it.Unfortunately, it seems that Amazon doesn’t carry or regularly stock an alternative, so I’m sticking to apple twigs and natural loofah for now.

Good hidey house!

My rabbit doesn’t necessarily nibble on it but she does lay under it all the time. It’s one of her favorite places to hide. It was clean for me when it arrived but I’d always sanitize it just in case. She does hop on top of it too. A great step stool!

Purchased for our two guinea pigs, this tunnel had to be large and wide open so they could easily run through it. The item listing photo looked ideal.Reviewed in Canada on March 10, 2016
What we got appears to be the wrong item, maybe a different tunnel from the same manufacturer. We received a tunnel of seemingly thicker twigs, and woven in such a way it was a tube rather than a tunnel. The base is uneven (it wobbles badly) and pinched shut to leave a base path of only 3" but on a round tube width of 8". This is not at all suitable for guinea pigs. While it may be fine for other small animals, I still fail to see why such a wide tube would have such a narrow path.
I will include photos of the item we received, I believe this must be some sort of mistake. I do not usually leave a review before I contact Amazon (they are always very good to attempt a resolution) but I did so this time so I could post photos that Amazon Customer Service could see.
I can amend this review should the proper item be received on exchange.
Amended Mar14,2016:
Replacement is worse than the first. Very slightly smaller, but the gap "pinch" at base is just as bad. starts as 3" but oddly tapers to 2.5".
New photos uploaded: if I get the sequence correct, 2nd tube on left with 1st on the right and a comparison photo in the middle.
Product photo needs to be changed to accurately reflect the tube, rather than tunnel, that buyers will likely receive.
