Tips for Making Perfect Belgian Waffles

Batter Suggestions

Packaged Belgian waffle mixes found in most supermarkets may be used with this unit.
For best results, we recommend filling the supplied measuring cup to the top so it will fill the waffle grids.
For evenly filled waffles, pour the batter into the center of the lower grid and spread out evenly to the edges. The entire waffle grid should be filled.
For added convenience while baking waffles, rest the measuring cup on the lip of the bowl containing the batter until the next baking cycle.

Cooking Suggestions

We recommend turning the browning control dial to setting #5 when using commercial pancake/waffle mixes and for the included recipes. If you prefer crisper, darker Belgian waffles, set the browning control higher. If you prefer lighter waffles, turn the browning control dial down.
If waffles tend to stick to waffle grids, add slightly more oil or butter to the batter.
Belgian waffles taste best when made to order, but baked Belgian waffles may be kept warm in a 200 degrees F oven. Place them in a baking pan or wrap them in foil while in the oven. Waffles wrapped in foil may lose their crispness.
Baked waffles may be frozen. Allow them to cool completely, and then place them in a plastic food storage bag. Use waxed paper to keep waffles separated. Reheat in an oven, toaster or toaster oven when ready to serve.

Tasty waffles!!

Makes nice waffles! I do not have experience with other waffle irons to compare but here is the pro - waffles are nicely shaped and everyone loves them.
Cons- hard to clean because the iron part is not removable. There is no on / off switch so if it is plugged into the outlet it is going to be hot. I have not noticed any difference in the outcome of the waffle based on where the temperature dial is set. You have to watch and wait. I usually poor in the batter then wait a little and peek to see if it is done to my liking before I take it out. Sometimes it has stuck to both the top and bottom iron - I have used an old pair of wooden chopsticks to loosen it from the top iron before opening completely. All in all we love our waffles and have fun making them - but this is not the easiest waffle maker.

We love this waffle maker and use it regularly. Some folks don't like the way the waffles come out. But, we have learned to play a bit with the temperature dial, to find the setting that works best for us. We start it off hot, and then after cooking 1 or 2 waffles, we turn down the temp. The only thing I don't love is the clean up. I have learned to use "less" oil. I put a Tbsp of oil in a bowl and then dip a brush into it. Then I paint the inside of the waffler, making sure not to use too much. Otherwise, the oil drips when you flip the waffle and it makes a mess on the outside of the machine. We love our waffles with fruit baked in. You need to be careful not to add to much or it will stick, regardless of how well you oiled the grates. If you make the waffle and add the fruit on the side of the finished waffle you will have better luck. This machine does not come apart, like some do, for cleaning. *The above opinion is entirely my own and not part of some promotion.*

My husband wanted to go out for waffles one morning and I suggested we buy this instead and have waffles whenever we want them with out leaving the house. It was one of the best decisions we've ever made!! This waffle iron is great. It's easy to use, cleans up well, is light weight, and makes delicious waffles. We've gotten addicted to making brownies in this waffle iron and they are such a hit that my 4 year old grandson had them instead of cake at his birthday dinner. I especially like that the handle on the measuring cup is open so I can hang it on the inside of my batter bowl and avoid messes. I have used this with many different recipes. We've tried several gluten-free recipes, chocolate waffle recipes, brownie batter recipes... We've always been quite satisfied.

I've already made more waffled in one month than I probably ate in two years. Who knew waffle-making could be so easy? And fun!

Perfect waffles are finally within reach. They come out of the make effortlessly and don't stick at all.

Clean-up is a breeze. It is going to ooze some waffle batter out of the side a little if you over-filled it or if the device is titled a tiny bit once closed. But, the good news is that the drip catching pan beneath it catches every drop and any batter that dries on the sides of the cooking portion comes off with the slightest pressure of your finger. Super easy.

The ease of following the indicator lights can have you feeling like a pro and wanting to open a corner Waffle-eria cart downtown. =)

This is the 2nd Waring waffle baker we've bought in a few months. We liked the first one so well that we bought a second one for our cabin. The newest one is an updated version which we really like. Both are easy to use. What we like best about these bakers is that both sides of the waffle cook and brown nicely. One family member likes a merely done waffle, which takes a little over a minute. The other family members like crispy waffles, which can cook a little longer. The newest one is easier to store, not as long and the dials are in the top cover instead of at the bottom on an extra panel. If I had a need, I would buy a third one - we like it that much!

I had been making buttermilk blueberry pancakes on Sunday Mornings for over a decade. Out of the blue one week, my son wants to change things up and have waffles. My old waffle maker was from the 1990's, but I used it to make serviceable waffles, but the burnt bits that had been lying dormant for a decade proved to stubborn to effectively clean. I happened to be flipping channels and came upon this Waring model on one of the Home Shopping channels. I did the slightest bit of research and found it on Amazon at a slightly lower price than advertised on TV. Tbe rest is waffle history. Have used it almost every weekend for about two months and it has made terrific waffles. Plus I take the extra time to make sure it's super clean after the last batch, lest it sit dormant for a decade like the last one.

UPDATE:

It worked for 18 Months and then just stopped one Sunday a month ago. I used it twice a month on average so that's 36 or so uses for $80. I'm taking away two stars. It worked well when it worked, but should have lasted much longer for the price. Probably why it was discontinued.

I have been wanting a waffle iron for some time now and my wife surprised me with this guy on Fathers Day. We love it! It's very easy to clean for a waffle iron. The non-stick surface does a phenomenal job! The pan underneath to catch drippings is well made and easy to clean. When following the instructions on using the cup to fill the waffle iron with batter, we get perfect waffles that taste delicious! We've not had any drippings fall out the sides. The only thing that the pan has caught are crumbs from the other "non-waffle" dishes we've made in this thing. It's very well built and stores nicely. It is the perfect waffle iron for us!

We purchased this as a gift for the daughter-in-law. We have an older version of this and absolutely love it..... makes the BEST waffles. Give it 10 stars for ease of clean up. May not seem like a big deal, but this waffle maker comes with a little measuring cup. Fill it to the line and you will have zero mess running out the sides. Typically just wipe it with a paper towel and put it away. Would suggest buying a blender bottle with it. Dump in the waffle mix and shake. Close the cap to store any leftover batter in the fridge for the next day.
