The Infinity were not pussyfooting around when it comes to investigating and protecting all that is important to them. Namely, the life of their loving Mage Hattie 'Seraphim'Jenkins. I feel like she is standing at that threshold of reaching her full potential. She is something special in the world of magic, she just has to embrace it herself and open herself up completly to it.
My palms were sweating, my heart was pounding, I kept feeling the pull between Hattie and Chief Trew. This series will captivate the reader and have you burning through pages like balefire.
Hattie was an adult in her head, but spoke like a teenager when conversing with other characters. Then part way through Hattie went whiney until the last sentence ..well no spoilers. Trew Love started calling her kiddo, while in her head she was calling him her man. Ok denial I get, but this is what I am talking about dropped plot lines. The kiss in a previous book and now the relationship not built and is just all over the place. Even worse the first part of the book read great, then suddenly everyone was talking like a teenager, and maude whom is a great character...no mention of the two left feet and dancing which is part of each book. Fraidy and gloomy stayed staunchly the same, though Fraidy's big scene where he stepped up...the sentence stopped mid way...and then a new paragraph where they were off to the doom started. (Fraidy deserved his praise and didn't get it!) The feeling again from book five that a different person wrote that book, now became two people wrote parts for this book and then pasted together and forgot to compare notes. I am loving this series, however, it is now hit and miss. I am going to keep reading because I love the clowder and the world that has been built. For you grammar nazis who will freak over not knowing who is speaking, missing quotations, etc.... well don't download. It was not a clean read and needed proofing. For you fans or some one looking for a good series and can overlook some of this..it is a good series. It just developed issues in book five and then again in this book. I want my original author back who wrote the first four books. Those were well done.
