I thumbed through this book at the local borders store and found many, many errors or fact and just plain misidentifications. Whoever put this pile of dung together was totally clueless about Indian artifacts. One field that interested me was the crooked knives but in this book it is called "Crook Knives". I'm sure General Crook would be flattered but its just plain wrong. Then I went to the tomahawks--Oh my God! African axes, Indonesian axes, nearly everything EXCEPT a Native American tomahawk was there. That was enough for me. ..nice pictures though ;)

I give this book 5 stars. Real nice book, lots of color photos. And helpful info on each item in the book. This book has things in it that the artifact books don't have in them so I find this book very helpful on things like clothing, mocassins, tools, and other items the Indians used many years ago. Very good descriptions and values for the items in the book. I think this book is a very helpful book for both the collector and antique dealer in this type of items. Thank you.
