Product description
Warne 1" PA CZ Rifle Scope Mounting Rings 16mm Dovetail Medium are designed to be the strongest, most durable Fixed Scope Rings system available. Typical steel RifleScope Rings in this class use only 2 screws per ring, have a narrower clamping band and in most cases only absorb recoil in the front ring. Maxima PA Scope rings utilize 4 T-15 Torx style socket cap screws for secure RifleScope optics mounting. The Maxima PA series fit Weaver style cross slot bases and incorporate a Warne square stainless steel recoil control key in both the front and rear Scope Mounting rings. his ensures a "no slip" positive recoil surface across the entire slot of the Rings Base and is capable of withstanding the heaviest of recoil. The Warne Maxima square recoil key also protects against swaging or peening of the base when used on softer or less durable materials. The Maxima PA rings band width is also substantially wider which offers more ring to scope clamping area to hold the RifleScope optics firmly in place.

Pros - They are exceptionally well machined and blued. I love the idea of 2 screws on top and 2 screws on the bottom. I have an Anschutz .22 rimfire that I used a lightweight, name brand scope mount. After bouncing around a bit while hunting, the dovetail rings worked loose. Even with Loctite on steel rings, I don't have confidence things won't work loose. I tried some "quality" aluminum rings, but even using a torque wrench and following manufacturers specs, I have had a screw strip. I ended up with a pair of rings Warne rings exactly like these with 2 screws on the base and 2 above and they are have been as bullet proof as a dovetail mount can possibly be.
Con - They are heavy duty, but they are also just plain heavy... If they are going on a larger centerfire or a varmint barreled rimfire where weight isn't a big concern, they are ideal. But my 17HMR is the "American" model with the "sporter" contoured barrel. I intend to carry it in the field and keeping things light was desirable.
So, I do highly recommend these rings if you have to deal with dovetail mounts. I don't think getting rings a bit lighter is worth the risk of them coming loose, or stripping a screw... I waited for a year for the new Tikka T1x rimfire. That looks like an ideal gun at a great price too, and I could have used lighter Picatinny rings that should be strong and remain secure... I just gave up on waiting for them to finally ship.
Just know that the diameter of the eyepiece on your particular scope is going to be the main dimension that either allows things to work, or not. I mounted a Leupold VX II 2x7 and it clears the bolt handle.
