I agree........I love Goodfellas.and I was very excited to see it on Bluray......
However I agree with the above menchion...........Warners could have done a better job remastering the video content of this fine film

I am not buying any Warner Blu Ray until they bring out the "REMASTERED" versions in 6 months time. They then get another bite at the cheery. Rip Off!

Peter says:
I have to agree. Movies like One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Bonnie and Clyde, A Clockwork Orange, Superman: The Movie, and Dirty Harry all got cleaned up for their DVD releases. I sold my copies of these films to upgrade to the Blu-Ray versions.... and it's not a substantial upgrade.

The exception to this rule was Blade Runner, which looks INCREDIBLE, though I think Warner might actually just be the distributor in that case.

The movies look MARGINALLY better than their simultaneously-released DVD counterparts, but it's not the massive improvement this viewer was hoping for. I don't expect "old" films to look brand new on Blu-Ray, but I DO expect the companies to make enough of an effort to make the films look good and work well on an HD format.

So Warner definitely needs to work on their Blu-Rays. Especially considering how
A) Some of my all-time favorite films are Warner Bros. films
B) Other companies have taken the time and money to make classic films look pristine for Blu-Ray.
