I heard this song while motoring about in my Work Truck, and the guitar riffs made me decide to purchase am MP3 of it. It was added to my Classic Metal playlist, even thought it isn't so old! A cool, renaissance-ish, driving tune, reminiscent of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, from the days before The Dark Times.

It's a good tune that stuck with me long enough that I actually tossed out some coin for the title. It has honestly been nearly a decade since I purchased music. Whether that has been due to financial constraints, lack of interest, or my overwhelming belief that it has been some time since any band produced a sound that was truly respectable... remains to be seen. At nearly forty years of age myself, I have to look back to the days when System Of A Down first graced us with their presence to find an album that I just had to possess.

That being said, it is also worth noting that I purchased the song Hail to the King (and not the album itself). I have enjoyed much of this band's music, but (and with great objection from many of my friends) I do not feel their sound is by any means innovative. As hinted at above, I find innovation something recent music has intentionally attempted to push the way of the Dodo.

Regardless, this song has some immense potency; lyrics that you want to sing/scream/slaughter while driving; and a powerful movement that keeps it exciting throughout. Still, I feel you are ultimately (IMO), better off buying the song and not the album by the same name.

I cant seem to geg enough of this song... the last song to stick I my head like this was AC/DC's Highway to Hell...its still the most played song according to my phone...but A7F rocks it... I like the way the song buklds into a crescendo at the beginning: guitar, bass drum, guitar, drums, guitar, then into the song...gets me everytime. Plus the gravely voice of the singer makes the song, then the triplet at the end really wraps it up...GET IT!!!

Amazing musicianship even if the songs are so memorable that they seem like they have been done by other bands. A bit more approachable and pop-like than their other stuff by A7F still rules the hard rock world.

What I love about this band is how real their music is. Hard rock is so much more popular now than it ever use to be, so there's lots of wannabe bands showing up, trying to be the next big thing. And they end up just sounding like some sort of boy-band version of hard rock. But Avenged Sevenfold is the real deal. They make songs that people will listen to years from now. They're not just one hit wonders trying to get a single song to make the charts. They have real talent, and Hail to the King is a great example of it. This song tells a great story, and it very different from other rock songs out there. Avenged Sevenfold knows how to do this, just like so many of the all time best hard rock bands do. They're taking their place in the ranks with groups like Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, Godsmack and all the other bands that make killer music music that's genuine, not wannabe.

very refined, very tight hard rock, outstanding rift creations, excellent vocals, definatley an evolution for Avenged sevenfold, many of the songs are more like fresh metallica symphony style creations. im always so impressed when rock bands rise to this level, it has all the hard edge but with a symphonic element.. now I have to see it live :.:
